A native of Pasadena, Dr. Tim J. McKinley has more than 25 years invested in family chiropractic care, and has been the local chiropractor for The Joint Chiropractic’s Pasadena Fairway Parkway location since September 2014.

He received his doctor of chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College in 1988 after attending University of Houston and San Jacinto College.

“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is two-fold,” Dr. McKinley says. “It’s helping sick people, and it’s making them smile.”

With patients ranging from infants to senior citizens, he is responsible for a lot of smiles in a career focused on wellness care and prevention. He is dedicated to the compassionate treatment of his patients and committed to the highest standards of professional chiropractic treatment and excellence,

“I’m convinced of a healthy body’s ability to repair itself, and the body’s ability to utilize its natural processes to help restore it to homeostasis,” Dr. McKinley says. “I’m a firm believer that routine chiropractic adjustments help maintain and optimize health.”

His own experience with chiropractic began years ago after a pretty traumatic experience.

“It was after a motorcycle wreck,” he says. “I received chiropractic care and I wanted to be a chiropractor ever since.”

In addition to performing chiropractic adjustments, Dr. McKinley enjoys educating his patients and empowering them to develop the habits they need to lead a healthy lifestyle. “The science, art and philosophy I learned in chiropractic college taught me how to care for the patient as a whole and not get distracted by treating the symptoms,” he says. “It is paramount to appreciate that the power that made the body heals the body, and the doctor simply assists.”

Dr. McKinley has the advantage of working where he grew up. “The best thing about working at The Joint in Pasadena is helping the people in my hometown,” he says.

When he’s not in the office, or exploring with his Australian cattle dog, a red heeler named Patches, Dr. McKinley enjoys cave diving and spearfishing.

In Case You Didn’t Know

If there’s any food that Dr. McKinley has to keep on hand, it’s tamales. He loves them. And if he were to invite any foursome from history over for a tamale dinner, he would no doubt find the conversation interesting among author, poet and self-proclaimed psychic Jane Roberts; the founder of analytical psychology Carl Jung; Spanish explorer Christopher Columbus; and scientist Albert Einstein.

The coolest thing Dr. McKinley has ever done is deep scuba diving. “When you’re on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico at 200 to 300 feet, you know no person has been there lately, and few humans could ever go there,” he says. “It feels like walking on the moon.”

Dr. Robert Paul Faries, a highly esteemed Doctor of Chiropractic with over 40 years of experience in the field, better known as Dr. Faries, was born and raised in Orange, TX.

Dr. Faries is passionate about chiropractic care, having earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College in 1983. He joined The Joint Chiropractic in Pasadena, TX, in 2025, bringing extensive knowledge and dedication.

He attended the University of Houston and Lamar University. He received his B.S. in Biology with a focus on Chemistry and Biology.

Dr. Faries says, “My fascination with the biomechanics of human anatomy led me to the chiropractic profession.” He prides himself on treating musculoskeletal and neurological disorders and cherishes the ability to establish close relationships with his patients while delivering excellent healthcare.

Throughout his career, he has treated patients from various locations, including Beaumont, Kemah, and now Pasadena, TX.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Faries enjoys a fulfilling family life with his wife of 45 years, Sandra Faries, a special needs teacher, their four adult children, Michael, Laura, Kristen, and Sean, and their pets, Bessie the dog and Sadie the cat. In his free time, he enjoys working out and tending to his yard.

Interestingly, Dr. Faries always keeps protein drinks stocked in his fridge and dreams of hosting a dinner party with The Apostle Paul, Robert E. Lee, and his family. An adventurous spirit, he says, “the coolest thing I've ever done is competing in triathlon for 15 years, the best part was embracing the challenges of swimming, biking, and running”.
