He received his doctor of chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College in 1988 after attending University of Houston and San Jacinto College.

“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is two-fold,” Dr. McKinley says. “It’s helping sick people, and it’s making them smile.”

With patients ranging from infants to senior citizens, he is responsible for a lot of smiles in a career focused on wellness care and prevention. He is dedicated to the compassionate treatment of his patients and committed to the highest standards of professional chiropractic treatment and excellence,

“I’m convinced of a healthy body’s ability to repair itself, and the body’s ability to utilize its natural processes to help restore it to homeostasis,” Dr. McKinley says. “I’m a firm believer that routine chiropractic adjustments help maintain and optimize health.”

The coolest thing Dr. McKinley has ever done is deep scuba diving. “When you’re on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico at 200 to 300 feet, you know no person has been there lately, and few humans could ever go there,” he says. “It feels like walking on the moon.”

Had some sharp pains in my back and stiffness. In the 20 - 30 minutes i spent in the back i feel like i gained 10 years back in my spine. The receptionist as well as the chiropractor himself were both polite, concise, professional, and straight to the point. First visit is only $29 and you can use that to knock down the price of the monthly membership instead of paying 29+89 you can include the original visit in the price. They offer you some quick paperwork which also asks you for your reason of visit. They go over it with you. Then you get shifted back a good few years, you ask the doctor your questions, pay and go. Quick to see me, quick to pick up the phone, straight to the point, polite, and very good results. If youre a trucker this is a huge win for you.

He is extremely knowledgable and glad to share what he knows so you understand why you are having the pains you are. And Izzy is the happiest and kindest person at handling patients I have ever seen. Her bright smile and gentle, uplifting spirit made my visit even more enjoyable despite me coming in with pain. I plan to see Dr. Ferris often during the rest of my stay so I can enjoy my time in Houston with my grandchildren and not let pain keep me on the sidelines. I called to do a walk-in appointment first time $29 I get there I had pre-set an appointment for 11:30 I arrived at 11:00 a.m. and didn't get seen until 12:30. Between the advertisement for free soda if you do some dance a tick tock real rolling on a TV in the background and the front desk staffed seeming very scatterbrained between four or five people it felt very Promotional and unorganized . When I finally did see the doctor , The doctor was continuously lecturing about things that didn't even apply to me. I feel like he was talking to fill the time so it felt like it was longer. He did crack my back and my neck but it literally took like 5 minutes and the other 30 minutes was filled with him telling me about his other patients and how I'm so much better because I'm 33 and I'm young. That being said I got to the main counter and the lady still had my ID and wouldn't let me pay until she gave me a full sales pitch about how I should buy a 10 pack program for a hundred bucks I told her I'd have to budget and then she continued on with well you should do it now because you'll miss out on it later after reinfiring her that I'll have to plan things out and that I have a busy schedule and I'll have to come back then she gave me my ID and allowed me to pay I felt like I was being held hostage while she decided to sales pitch me on top of everything else I am so glad I got out of there really bad experience in my book.

I have had The Joint monthly membership for about 5 years now. I just have it incase I feel a need for adjustment. I was recently in an accident so I've been going to an outside chiropractor which also offers therapy. I had to go to Houston for a week so I was looking for a chiropractor outside there which has therapy. Come to find out, many chiropractors in Texas won't see you unless you have an attorney referral. I went to The Joint at Gulfgate and I was absolutely unimpressed with the Dr. And her "skills". She could not adjust me if her life depended on it. The next day I went in search for a Dr. who could help. I ended up at this office in Pasadena. I met Dr. Faries and WOW WOW WOW. With his 35+ years of chiropractic skills and knowledge, he adjusted me better than I had ever been adjusted. He was extremely friendly, talkative, personable, and knowledgeable. I knew Dr. Faries only worked every other day. Since I needed care, I went back to this office the following day to see Dr. McKinley. Again, wow wow wow. Dr. McKinley with his 35+ years of expierence, also adjusted me quite well. He too was extremely friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. I have never been adjusted as well as Dr. Faries and Dr. Mckinley adjusted me. The total experience was amazing. By mid week, I didn't feel as tight as I did before going to these Doctors. I highly recommend this office. Drive out of your way if you must. Completely worth it. I'm just sorry they are 1,500 miles away from my house. Any future chiropractor I see will have a lot to live up to.

Barely adjusts anything but my neck every-time I come to this location. I have given it the benefit of the doubt but probably will have to travel to another location. Every time I visit Houston they are able to adjust my neck, upper back and lower. Every time they have tried to adjust my lower back I was scared! It almost felt like they were about to injure me due to rushing the position I was laying in.

Dr. Walker is no longer employed at this location, she was— by far, the best practitioner at this location treating my partner. I googled around and found that Dr. Walker has her own practice called “Prime Performance Chiro” in Pasadena off Lawrence Ave— and she sees patients in private practice now! I inquired about Dr. Walker during our appointment here and they wouldn’t let me know where she’d gone, so I found her myself! If you’re a Dr. Walker regular she accepts appts through her website, which is impeccable; she does ACTUAL chiropractic work, offers 30, 60, 90 minute deep tissue and adjustment sessions. We just booked with her and will be following her on her endeavors and abandoning the joint.

I walked in there with a really back pain and came out feeling worse. $45 gone in seconds just to make me feel way worse. The lady that popped my back was rude and extremely rough. con: -you're rushed by the chiropractor .. . -if you have moderate to sever cases you'll end up in more pain then I am, (moderate or specific such as lower back,neck,shoulder,traps, ,inter pecs etc) -covers only basic adjustments any further will make it worst as this practice in this office only does minor.. -you wont really get to know your doctor, get in, get out -Personally I was hoping the dr. would carefully read my problems as I've put on my paper, he doesn't even bother with that, nothing has changed and i've experience MORE soreness and pain after 2 adjustments. This practice is great for minor ones and not so severe ones as I have sharp pains in my neck and left top shoulder. Second visit I small words exchange and I told him I still received the same pain and I am concern. We did the SAME spots nothing changed, I do not know if anything is getting better at this point. I do NOT recommend this if you have a more Moderate to Severe problem . -Last but not least, with the paper you sign when you visit this practice they're NOT responsible if you get further injury or pain.. if they cause it you agree it is YOUR problem not theirs. . ------------------- pro: - fast -easy -cheap -very welcoming front desk -no need to really make advance appointments. -in and out fast -great for minor adjustments

Rude, horrible chiropractor. Do not waste your time here. There are other more professional, welcoming and thorough chiropractor elsewhere. only willing to spend 3-4 minutes with a patient and will ask you to leave for another visit to answer your questions. Only in the business to signing up folks for visits and not spend appropriate time to assess your issues. Will rush into adjusting your back and neck and never assess your progress. Will consistently suggest they do not have enough time to visit each patient and others are waiting. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!

Amazing Drs who work together to get you up and feeling better fast! The place is ALWAYS clean and staff is very nice. As soon as you walk in checking in is super quick they give you a little keychain card that you scan and are ready to pass on back! It is rare that we ever have to wait! I’ve been going here about a year, and I love it. I’ve been to lots of chiropractors, and I’m a difficult adjustment. I go generally once a week, sometimes twice. If I had I’d be there daily. I think everyone should go to The Joint once a week. Absolutely wonderful return on investment. I walk in sore and walk out feeling great. Now keep in mind if you’re a hard case, it’ll take years to effectively repair the damage you’ve done to yourself but you will feel better. Just remember after a good adjustment, ice it.

went the Joint in Pasadena, son back was hurting, he already had membership, so I figure take to the Dr and get adjusted, He was worst off went he came out, will never go To the Pasadena location. Dr was very defense ,when I asked him questions. I myself went to several chiropractors before, so I understand about back pain,and how the adjustments are done. will try a different location, if it going to like this will never go to the Joint again. Came here to consult on how I can go about treating my lower hip pain due to an accident. The doctor asked if I had any questions after he popped my back, and I asked how I can go about treating my hip, and how I can resolve this issue, if I would need MRI ect. He said his job isn’t to “fix an accident he didn’t cause”” I could have a permanent issue due to me causing this by some freak accident” and that he can only give temporary relief. He said if I wasn’t holding trays wrong at my job it wouldn’t be so bad, and that surgery couldn’t fix this, he didn’t seem to know what he was talking about. It seems rude to tell someone they will deal with an issue forever when he had no scans and doesn’t know what issue I’m even having. Not to mention he asked if it felt better after popping and I said no, and he said well your feet position looks better so I’m gonna say yes? Why even ask! He was not personable and very rude. I would never go back to this place. Threw away his stupid “treatment plan” this place is a money grab!

I would never recommend this facility to anyone. Dr.McKinley does not care about the actual well being of his patients. After seeing him I became a lot worse. When I tried to speak with him about the issue, he dodged me ,and was very unprofessional about it. Immediately after I began seeing another chiropractor who actually listened to his patients and their needs. I still never spoke to dr. McKinley directly, but now have X-rays scheduled with my physician. HUGE REGRET- trusting Dr. McKinley , and becoming a member at the FAIRMONT location.

I work 10hr shift 6 days a week doing turnarounds as a welder. It requires hours mostly in the same posture for most of the day. That plus all the safety gear we have to wear my body is aching at the end of the week. I come to the joint chiropractic once or twice a week and it has really made the difference. Very flexible to your schedule. Very profesionales and excelente attention as soon as you walk in. Overall the cost. Highly recomendable.

This is the fast food equivalent of Chiropractors... No xrays given. It's basically...Touch your toes, your right side is off by an inch.. And you get a QUICK adjustment all in like 10 minutes then it's NEXT.... I now have bad neck pain and shoulder pain that has never went away in 2 months. I didn't have this issue before the adjustment! I have been to the ER because the pain gets so annoying. Now I have to deal with this issue. I suggest if you truly need to go to a chiropractor, go to a reputable office where you receive a true assessment and diagnosis other than just touching your toes. You may do more damage to yourself... Just my experience and opinion. I would never go back, just felt like a fast food joint.

Let’s start at the front of the office. The lady at the front desk is always welcoming and friendly. The doctors here are amazing. Walk in with pain, walk out feeling relieved. I recommend this office to anyone that want to experience the chiropractor and are short on time. The longest I’ve waited was about 10 minutes.

This location is awesome. Izzy is all about customer service and is so friendly every time I come in. That right there deserves 10 stars. Dr. Walker is my savior. My pain was at an 8 and after just a few visits I was down to prob a 2 pain level. So thankful for this location and their awesome staff.

I've been going to this location for years and never had a problem until yesterday with Dr. Megan Walker. I told her I had a rib out of place and that it had gone out before and it was really hard to get back in. The only person that could fix it in the past was my husband. She worked on my back and neck (strongly). When finished, I told her my rib was still out and without turning around she said, "Good luck". When I asked what she recommended for my rib, she told me to have my husband do it. I was shocked! I mean, what?!? If my husband was still with me, I would not have wasted my last visit going to the Joint! Duh!!! I don't know if I offended her in some way, but damn! The last time I had this rib out, the chiropractor I saw there was very friendly and tried every way to help. Dr. Walker was rude and dismissive. I'm not sure I want to go back now.

I had a great experience from the moment I called and spoke with Izzy. She’s very professional and was so very kind to me over the phone. I had called other locations and she was the most welcoming and could tell she wanted to help me with my pain issues. She treated me like a priority and not an inconvenience that I was calling and taking her time up. She booked me literally 15 after I got off the phone with her. I arrived at the location off Fairmont and she warmly greeted me and got me checked in to see the Dr. McKinley and he adjusted me after getting an assessment of my problem areas. After discussing my issues with spinal stenosis and a surgery I had he recommended I come regularly for adjustments to help decompress my nerve. After just 1 adjustment I’m doing a lot better and my pain has gone down significantly. After more adjustments I’m fairly certain my pain will completely be gone. I am so glad I decided to check out the joint Fairmont location. Try them you won’t be disappointed.

First visit today and I feel great so far. The office is nice and Izzy was very informative, helpful and sweet. A lot of places want to rush you off the phone or don’t take the time to listen to you but they really took the time to listen and explain everything. As a first timer I was a little nervous but they made me feel comfortable. Dr Walker did my adjustment and she was great. Immediately was able to point out which side was causing the most issues in my neck and I’m feeling so much better. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

I Went to the joint recommended by a friend. I went in and I have never been to a chiropractor before. The guy never checked me out or anything just told me to lay down and started popping my back. He pushed all his weight on me and I nearly lost my breath. I am a petite person 34 years old, 5’ 1” about 115 pounds. Then he just reached down said relax and cracked my neck. I heard so many pops then loudest pop ever. He said go home and apply ice, I’ll be fine. The next morning I woke up in the most excruciating pain I’ve ever felt in my life and I couldn’t move. I was in so much pain I was vomiting. I called the joint and asked if this was normal? They said yes and I probably needed to come back in for another adjustment that day... all I could think was how I just screwed up by going in there in the first place. Then later that day I started hear swishing sounds in my ear and could feel my heart pounding in my neck. Everything hurt and I couldn’t move. I had to have help getting up to go to the bathroom. Then along with the swooshing noises came these debilitating headaches. It was like a knife being jabbed in my head above my eye at the hair line. The my right arm started tingling and my index finger and thumb went numb. Three days after my appointment my vision started doubling. So I went to a family friend dr for X-rays because I don’t have insurance. It was so difficult getting in and out of the car. I had a rough time just sitting in a chair. They told me both sides of my neck felt sprained and from the X-rays I had no movement in my spine. There was nothing they could do for me for pain relief or help. Over the week the pain never subsided I finally broke down and my mother took off work and took me to urgent care. The prescribed ibuprofen, pain pills, muscle relaxers and steroids. She said I really needed to be admitted to the hospital but with no insurance and I’m scared of doctors I didn’t go. I had never taken any pain pills or muscle relaxers ever in my entire life. The next day I went to my general doctor and he also said I needed to be in the hospital but since I was scared he ordered an MRI for that day. He could feel fluid building at the base of my skull. When your head and neck is injured your body produces extra fluid to protect your brain. At this point my vision was so bad I couldn’t really see. The mri showed no stroke or blood clot which what he was most concerned about, but it showed I had two bulging discs at C4&C5, and C5&C6. My Dr referred me to an Ophthalmologist because of my double vision and vision problems. The Ophthalmologist found my optic nerves were swollen 5 times the normal size. What causes this? Increased intercrainial fluid pressure pushing on the backs of my eyes. He immediately refers me to a neuro Ophthalmologist. After meeting with the neuro Ophthalmologist she tells me if she rules out strokes and blood clots then she will give me a diuretic to take the fluid off my brain and it will relieve the pressure off my optic nerves. So one little visit to The Joint Chiropractic left me in sever pain for 6 weeeks, I laid in bed for 2 months unable to do anything for myself and I couldn’t even watch tv because I couldn’t see, I had a numb finger and thumb for 8 weeks. My vision is still not right and it’s been 3 months, I now have lower back pain which I’ve never had before, my neck cracks anytime I move it and when I look to the right it feels like something catches and I have to rub it to get it to be able to move. They have really messed me up and I hope they do not do that to anymore people. I really thought I was going to die. I’m so thankful I am improving but I think I have permanent damage. I spend so much money on doctors and tests with no insurance. I had 20/20 vision before this incident and no health issues.

I signed up for the first month paid for my four visits, and then asked if it was a reoccurring charge and I was told no come the end of the month. There is a charge on my account pending for February when I called and asked why she said when you first sign up the first two months are reoccurring, I told her that’s not what you told me I said so you basically lied to me because I asked if it was a reoccurring charge and when you’re not expecting it to come out of your account it throws off your bills so basically I feel like I got ripped off Because that was not explained to me the chiropractic Service is good, but the customer service was not so good because I was lied to

I recommend Dr. McKinley and this location, they are extremely friendly. Also Dr. McKinley did an amazing job fixing my lower back, I went from wearing a brace for my back on a regular basis to finally being able to move around comfortably. This is a really good location, with helpful staff and Dr. McKinley works with anyone very well.

It was my first time so I expected a long process of doing paperwork and all that jazz. By the time I finished and got my adjustment, it had only been maybe 30mins. Others who walked in and had been there before were seen very quickly by using one of those mini cards you put on your key ring which are given on your first visit. I haven't been back yet because the adjustment I got was amazing and the practicioner was very knowledgable. But next time I have issues, I'll definitely be going back.

Back pain became unbearable while on my third trimester of being pregnant, so I decided to go see Dr. Mckinly. (as I had previously been at the Joint during my second trimester) Best decision ever, I slept better at night and no more back pain, Dr. was gentle as could be and there was no doubt in my mind of his experience. I did consult with my OB prior to such Chiropractic adjustment sessions to be on safe side, and in my case it has highly recommended for upcoming back pains. I will be there in a few weeks Dr. Mckinly, see ya soon….

Very poor services , for back pain I went there, it didn’t help , and it get worse, I told them that , but they didn’t even listen , just continued the same thing over and over . Finally I stop going their . They have plan for 79 dollar 3 visit / month . Don’t take it . It’s a trap . No matter you go there or not , they will still charge you . I called them for cancellation . They said You have to come there .be careful . It’s a health service , so if u don’t receive the service don’t pay for it .
