Keep Calm With Chiropractic Care

For the most anxious of people among us, it’s truly ironic that sometimes, just the mere thought of trying out a new treatment method for our stress is enough to really stress us out. It’s funny to write about and to read about now, but I know there have been times when the irrational anxiety in me would absolutely freak out whenever my doctor or healthcare provider would strongly urge me to try a new method of relief from anxiety.

Fortunately, I have since seen for myself how natural and alternative treatment methods really can benefit those of us who deal with high anxiety, stress, or even panic attacks often. One method that has been scientifically proven to effectively relieve symptoms of stress and anxiety in the body is chiropractic. A wonderful post by The Balanced Bear really reiterated for me the importance of counting on chiropractic care for stress relief.

The post did a really great job explaining clearly how chiropractic adjustments work to actually calm you down, so I’ll try my best to add on to the explanation here. As any of the licensed doctors of chiropractic at The Joint clinics will tell you, chiropractic is meant to help the body heal itself in an all natural and non invasive manner. Since stress tends to build up in the body and can even cause physical symptoms, chiropractic is a great method for releasing that stress. During a successful chiropractic adjustment session, the body will release the feel good chemicals serotonin and endorphins, while also working to lower levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, in the body.

As the doctor of chiropractic adjusts the spinal column back into its proper alignment, the body’s nervous system is freed from disturbances and blockages, and is able to work effectively once again. Chiropractic is able to not only provide physical relief, but it can provide emotional relief as well. You can walk into your nearest clinic of The Joint, no appointment necessary, and have a consultation with a licensed doctor of chiropractic about your stress and any other symptoms or concerns you may have about your health and your body. From that conversation, you can work with the chiropractor to create an individual and personalized treatment plan that will help you regain control of your health on your own terms. Over time, you should start noticing that as your body responds positively to chiropractic, your overall health will improve.
