Dr. Angelica, as she likes to be called, says the best thing about being in the chiropractic field is: “Connecting with patients and teaching them the power of their body to heal from inside-out ”.

She knew chiropractic was his calling when- “when I received my first specific upper cervical adjustment. I was diagnosed with a colloidal cyst in my brain at 8 years old. It was an incidental finding after suffering from intense migraines since 6 years old. I was prescribed many medications to aid with my headaches but nothing worked. I was having secondary effects due to all the medications including behavioral changes. At age of 19, I was invited to go to a Chiropractic College open house and I received that adjustment that changed my life. Before knowing Chiropractic was my calling I wanted to become a Neurosurgeon but I decided not to because I understood that the body has the ability to heal itself without invasive procedures. Chiropractic is much more than just “popping” and “cracking” and it is my purpose to spread that word to the WORLD. -me”.
The thing I like best about working at the Alamo Ranch location of The Joint,”I like to work at The Joint in Alamo Ranch because I’m able to be me. Dr. Angelica says she must haveKombucha!!! Drinking Kombucha is what has helped me heal better and faster. Four “famous” people, living or dead (but not friends/family members), who would comprise your perfect dinner party, and why? It’s not about famous people but intentional people. My perfect dinner will be with Mabel Palmer, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba. As you can read, all of them are women. They are inspirational to me because all of them were intentional with their purposes and they all broke a lot of stereotypes when men were the leading heads at their professions.
Angelica enjoys playing Volleyball, hiking with my dog and my boyfriend, going to the beach with friends and listening to motivational post casts.

He knew chiropractic was his calling when- “My dad was a fireman. Once while assisting the paramedics, a patient became violent. As a result, my dad sustained whiplash in his lower back which affected his L4 vertebrae and sciatic nerve requiring medical attention. For one month, he had to use a cane just to walk because of severe back spasms. During this time, the medical doctor put him on muscle-relaxer pills and started physical therapy. Nothing worked so he tried chiropractic. I remember driving my dad to that first chiropractic visit. I had to carry him into the office. After that first visit, my dad was able to not only walk out of the office but was able to drive home. After just one trip to the chiropractor, he experienced more relief than he had with months of drugs and therapy. The pain and muscle spasms were reduced significantly. He never used his cane again. This was my first exposure to chiropractic care. I did not know at the time that I would soon be a chiropractic patient myself.
Shortly after my dad’s visit to the chiropractor, I was at basketball practice. All of the sudden, I had difficulty breathing. The more I ran the worse it got. I had never experienced anything like it before. It got to the point that I could no longer run. I left practice early. When I got home, I told my dad what happened. He said, “We’re going to the chiropractor.” I did not know if it would help but I went with my dad. After one adjustment, I was able to run up and down the court the next day. I have loved chiropractic ever since! ”
