3 Ways to Build Your Self-Confidence

By Genevieve Cunningham

Living a life of confidence and high self-esteem is the goal of everyone. When we feel good about who we are, we can accomplish so much more. And of course, the higher our confidence, the more protected our mental health as well. But gaining confidence can be tough. There are so many things in this world that pull us down and make us feel inadequate. If you need some help building a little confidence in your life, take a look at these tips.

Exercise is good for the body and health as a whole. When you make fitness a priority, you might notice benefits such as weight loss, level blood pressure, less pain in the body, and many others. But as it turns out, exercise can also help build self-esteem and confidence. When we exercise, our bodies become more tight and toned. And even when the tightening effect is slow to happen, confidence still rises quickly. Exercise makes us feel capable and strong, and after a bit, this spills over into other areas of our life as well.

Make Decisions Quickly

If you’re a slow decision maker, it might be time to pick up the pace. While taking your time, thinking out the results, and comparing every angle is sometimes a good thing, making a quick decision can improve your self-esteem. Why? Because your first instinct is almost always right. And trusting your instincts seriously boosts the way that you feel about yourself. It promotes feelings of adequacy, strength, and confidence. When need be, think out decisions; but when possible, trust your gut and your confidence level will rise

Learn Positive Self-Talk

The way that you talk to yourself matters so much. Most people don’t realize that this is something that they can acknowledge and change. But you can! Listen to your inner voice. Is it positive or negative? Encouraging or discouraging? Make sure that your inner voice is speaking to you in a way that lifts you up and gives you confidence. This one step may significantly change the way that you feel about yourself and your abilities.

Gaining confidence is possible, but it often takes work and consistency. Use these tips to build your self-esteem, and you’ll probably notice that your life and health are improved. With a little more confidence, the world becomes a much better place, so get your esteem in check and enjoy all that life has to offer.
