Exercises for Burning Stubborn Leg Fat

Your legs are an important part of your physique. They hold you up, carry you around, and provide power to your body. We should be proud of them! Unfortunately, however, your legs also seem to be a place where we store unwanted fat. With spring and summer on the horizon, now is a good time to put a little focus on those legs and burn off some of that fat. To look good in your shorts, check out these leg toning, fat burning exercises.


Squats are one of the best leg exercises out there. You can do this move with weights or using your own bodyweight. It tones your legs from top to bottom, but it especially works two very large muscle groups: the quadriceps and the hamstrings. When these muscles are strong and defined, it makes the entire leg look more defined. Plus, the more muscle you have, the more fat your body is able to burn. So working out these large muscles can mean less fat, more tone, and a stronger leg overall.


Lunges are another great leg exercise that works every muscle from top to bottom. With lunges, you have a lot of options. You can use weights or your own bodyweight. You can do them forwards, backwards, walking, standing still, or sideways. To keep your knees protected during this move, make sure your knees don’t go further than your toes, and don’t continue if it causes you pain. Doing lunges everyday can give you some beautifully toned legs, and will add some strength to this powerful part of the body.


To do this exercise properly, it’s really beneficial if you have weights. Holding a weight in front of you, you bend at the waist, carrying the weight to the ground, and then back up again. The weight stays in a hanging position, and the knees should stay slightly bent. This is a great exercise for working the hamstrings. When you are able to tone the hamstrings, you provide a lot of definition to the back of your leg, helping them to have a longer, leaner appearance.

Your legs are strong and powerful, but they don’t always have the appearance that we want. In order to shape your legs and burn that unwanted fat, try these exercises every day for the best results. Before you know it, you’ll have strong, powerful, and toned legs to enjoy the summer.
