Meet The Doctors
Dr. Joshua Nisler became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2022 when he began serving residents in the Brookfield area, where he continues doing the work he finds so rewarding.
“The best thing about being in the chiropractic profession is being able to help patients overcome pain and their fear of movement so that they can lead more fulfilling lives,” he says. “I love that I get to work with people every day.”
As he is known to his patients, Dr. Josh is a product of small-town Wisconsin who enjoys playing board games with his wife, playing fetch with his dog, and spending quality time with his family.
He earned his doctorate in chiropractic from Logan University.
“I knew chiropractic was my calling after my childhood chiropractor helped me recover fully functional neck movement after an injury left me unable to turn my head left or right without excruciating pain,” he says. “As a professional, my most memorable chiropractic experience was having a patient tell me they were able to pick up their child for the first time without pain or fear of movement.”
Dr. Mike Budjak came to the West Allis and Brookfield clinic locations of The Joint Chiropractic in 2023, enjoying the role of local healthcare provider in the Milwaukee area and doing the work he finds so fulfilling.
“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is the ability to help people live their most optimal life,” he says. “Every person deserves access to quality care that has the patient’s best interest at the center of the process. I love getting to meet new people every day, and being able to meet the patient where they are, in terms of need and care, is extremely valuable.”
Dr. Mike grew up in Alberta, Canada where he was very involved in sports. “I always found myself in the physical therapy or chiropractic office for my injuries,” he says. “I would say that sparked my desire to be a chiropractor from a young age.”
He previously worked in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin.
Dr. Mike’s partner, Gina, is also a chiropractor practicing in the Milwaukee area.
In his spare time he enjoys golfing, reading, and spending time with Gina. “I do what I can to relax during my time away from work,” he says, “although golfing can be more frustrating than relaxing at times.”
Dr. Mike went to the University of Alberta, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. He studied anatomy, physiology, human movement, pain science, and patient education. He earned a Doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic.
“I love helping people in any way that I can and I enjoy working with my hands,” he says. “I felt like chiropractic was an excellent opportunity to combine multiple approaches to patient care and education. It’s satisfying to help reduce the pain people have been dealing with for years as well as give patients tools and advice so they can care for themselves.”
Dr. Mike likes working with patients at the West Allis clinic. “The people I have met so far are extremely kind and genuine,” he says. “I look forward to spending time with them and the other doctors and staff members at The Joint as well.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
He always keeps hummus and pita bread or tortillas on hand. “I cannot get enough of either one of them,” he says.
If he could plan the ideal dinner party, Dr. Mike would invite Jesus, Tiger Woods, Winston Churchill, and Canadian Paul Bissonnette, a former professional hockey player.
One of the most exciting experiences of Dr. Mike’s life was getting a hole in one while golfing and winning $10,000. “It made me feel like a professional golfer for a couple of hours,” he says.
His favorite reading material is the Lord of the Rings trilogy because “it’s a story about true friendship.”
