Chiropractic clinic opens in Aiken

The Joint Corp., a franchiser of chiropractic clinics, celebrated the opening of its first clinic in Aiken on Thursday.

Owned and operated by L.S. Carper, The Joint is located at 258 East Gate Drive in the Eastgate Shopping Center next to Publix.

According to a recent press release, Carter discovered his passion for chiropractic care after it cured his wife of chronic carpal tunnel syndrome.

Traditional medicine provided no relief for her, Carter said. But within three weeks of chiropractic care, her condition went away, he said.

"I like the idea of approaching ongoing wellness through a holistic, preventive program of care rather than waiting until something is wrong to try and fix it," Carter said in the press release. "The Joint - with no appointments necessary and lower cost than most co-pays - makes taking care of your health so much more convenient and affordable that anyone can do it."

Benefits of The Joint include membership plans of $49 per month, which entitles patients to four visits per month, family membership plans and services to walk-in patients as well.

South Carolina native Dr. Jerry Odom will also be part of the team. A graduate of USC Aiken, Odom also received his doctor of chiropractic from Sherman College in Spartanburg.
