Meet The Doctors

Dr. Jake DeVries, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Buckeye

Dr. DeVries was born and raised in Cortland, Nebraska, a small town in southeastern region of the state. He graduated with a B.S. in Nutrition Exercise and Health Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2016 (Go Huskers!). By 2020, he earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Cleveland University-KC, graduating with Cum Laude honors. Since graduating, he’s recently moved to Arizona to join The Joint team, and is excited to have the opportunity to provide the best care he can for patients!

He realized he wanted to be a Chiropractor while he was working for a local Chiropractic office as an undergraduate. As he learned more about the profession, he became intrigued by the holistic approach and the variety of ways to improve a patient’s health. His favorite thing about being in the Chiropractic field is learning about each patient’s story and being able to enable them to change the context of it for the better.

He enjoys being outdoors (running/hiking/biking), watching and playing basketball, football, golf and a variety of other sports, reading, and exploring new areas!

Eggs, spinach, and apples are all must-haves in his fridge; all are staples to his diet and are quick and easy to prepare and are very nutrient dense foods.

Four people he would want at his dinner party would be Michael Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tupac Shakur, and Dalai Lama.

The coolest thing he’s done was go on a 10 day long chiropractic mission trip to Peru in 2018 where they were able to visit Machu Picchu, and provide care to the local residents. It was an amazing and humbling experience to learn more about the cultural differences, and be able to help people who didn’t have the same luxury of health care most do.

Dr. Maralina Serio, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Buckeye

My name is Dr. Maralina Serio, and I am an associate chiropractor who is new to Arizona. I was raised in several of the Chicago suburbs, and after deciding I wanted to explore for my undergraduate degree, I landed in Indianola, IA where I attended Simpson College and graduated in 2015. I apparently loved Iowa enough to stay for more school, and cut my travel to visit family in half, when I attended the main campus of Palmer College of Chiropractic Davenport! In October of 2019 I graduated from PCC and got a license for Arizona and Illinois but stayed in the Quad Cities where I worked in Moline for some time. In June of 2022 I joined The Joint to help serve the Phoenix area while soaking up more sun than the Midwest has to offer. Being a chiropractor is a fulfilling career that allows me to meet new people and help them live their life with comfort and pleasure. Having been an athlete while I was younger, and in college, Chiropractic also keeps me active and allows me to help be a part of an overall health team. When I am not in the office, I enjoy taking walks and playing with my dogs Optimus Prime and Malcolm. Other hobbies I enjoy include seeing movies with my significant other, trying new food places, crocheting rectangles, and reading books to settle down for the evening or learn something new!

Dr. Austin Stendebach, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Buckeye

Dr. Austin Stendebach was born and raised in Kansas City. He continued his academic and sports career playing baseball at Baker University where he played 4 years and graduated with his bachelors in exercise science. He continued his education at Cleveland University-Kansas City where he graduated with his doctorate of chiropractic. He then moved to Arizona with his partner, Dr. Boyer, and their dog, Chance, where he will begin his chiropractic career.

Dr. Stendebach has always been interested in a holistic approach to care, and chiropractic fit that approach. He has always been an athlete and active growing up, playing baseball, basketball, and football while also getting into lifting during his athletic career. He believes chiropractic care can improve the quality of life with connection of a holistic approach to wellness, and healthcare. He is serious about helping improve the lives of his patients, and loves to work with those who are serious about making improvements to their health and lifestyle.

In his free time he enjoys playing sports, of all kinds, hiking, relaxing by the pool, reading and hanging out with friends and family along with his 85lb Pitbull. He enjoys trying new restaurants and exploring this new, beautiful state he recently moved to.

Dr. Paul Woolf, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Buckeye

My name is Paul Woolf, DC, I was born in Long Island, New York, and was raised in North Lauderdale, Florida. I graduated in Marietta, Georgia, from Life Chiropractic College in 1988. I have helped treat and care for patients ranging from newborns to senior citizens. A mentor once asked me, "What makes a doctor a doctor?" My response was My Patients. My goal is to help patients achieve better health and a feeling of greater well-being. In my free time, I spend time with my wife Melissa. I have two children and four grandchildren.
