3 Ways to Love Your Workout
By Genevieve Cunningham
Working out can be difficult. Unless you really love exercise, you may find the process of working out a bit dull. Or just challenging. Or for some people, complete torture. The good news is that exercise doesn’t have to be a burden. In fact, you can learn to love your exercise routine as long as you know where to begin. If you’re ready to ditch the dread and love the exercise process, take a look at these tips to help you love your workout as soon as today.
Get Some Buddies
Friends tend to make things easier. They bring accountability as well as a little fun. If you really want to love your workout, you need to love your company. Grab some friends who are also interested in fitness. Make a plan that includes plenty of together time as well as plenty of exercise time. Then work together to help each other meet your goals. Creating a posse of friends is one of the best ways to meet goals, improve health, and get closer to the life you really want to lead.
Go All Out
Don’t burn yourself out, but have some fun with your workout. If you’re taking a dance class, let loose and have some fun. If you’re taking aerobics, forget how you look and go for it. When we get rid of any inhibitions in our routine, it makes the workout more fun and more effective. Forget that anyone else is present and go for it. You might find that this is all it takes to love your workout and the results.
Don’t Settle
It’s hard to love your workout when you’re settling for an activity that you don’t really care for. There’s not a magic exercise. Choose one that you like. If you hate running, don’t run. If you hate sweating, work out inside. Listen to yourself and go with something that feels good. Choose an exercise routine that you can actually look forward to and you’re much more likely to stick with it long-term.
Even if exercise is not really your thing, there are ways to learn to love it. There are ways to enjoy the process rather than dread it. Use these tips to learn to love your exercise routine, and get in the best shape of your life without the stress and negative feelings toward a process that you can absolutely learn to love along the way.
