Dr. Justin Brandau, DC grew up in rural Iowa on the family farm. He was first introduced to Chiropractic in high school when he injured his back playing baseball by his father who often sought treatment due to issues related to the physicality of farming. He attended Waldorf College & Iowa State University prior to pursuing his Doctorate in Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN.
After graduation in 2002 Dr. Justin began practicing in Hopkins, MN. His desire was to leave the frigid winters of the Midwest and in 2003 decided to move to the Valley of the Sun where he’s served the people of Phoenix, Tempe, Ahwatukee, Queen Creek & currently in East Gilbert in the San Tan Village location with The Joint.
Over the years Dr. Justin has had experience with multiple clinic settings including private practice and multidisciplinary settings. He is one of 3 Chiropractors in the state of Arizona with a diplomat in physical rehabilitation and has performed independent medical examinations for a number of personal injury cases. He frequently treats patients of all ages from infants to senior citizens for many of the physical conditions that people suffer from today.
Dr. Justin & Rhonda reside in Chandler, AZ and enjoy weekend trips up north, attending live music & sporting events, meal prepping & spending quality time with family & friends. He also enjoys playing golf & spending time in the beautiful Arizona sun.
Dr. Vernon York earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Xavier University in NOLA. He started his career as a lab technician manufacturing vaccinations before going to Chiropractic College. Looking for a change in his career, his fiancé encouraged him to look into the chiropractic program because of the amazing results she was receiving from one of her classmates that was in the program. After looking into the program and learning of the recuperative abilities of the body by having a nervous system free of interference through the chiropractic adjustment, he knew this was something he wanted to study to learn how to help people alleviate pain.
Dr. York is from Mobile, Alabama. When he was young , he lived in Tucson, Az, when his Dad was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB. While in Chiropractic School , he and his new bride visited Phoenix Arizona for a couple of summer vacations and knew they found the place they would raise their family. Dr. York graduated from Life University, in Marietta Georgia, fall of 2002, completed and passed his 4th part of National Boards and they relocated to Phoenix in early part of 2003. He has enjoyed practicing in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. He has practiced as an associate, he’s owned a practice and works with medical practitioners at a pain center and most recently joined The Joint Chiropractic team.
Dr. Zachary Homer originates in a small town in eastern Washington. He moved to Gilbert, Arizona when he was 14 years old. Dr. Homer finished his bachelor’s of science degree at Palmer College. He then went on to get his doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2016.
After graduating, Dr. Homer worked at a chronic pain clinic in Scottsdale Arizona for about 3 year. Dr. Homer joined The Joint in July 2019. He has been around chiropractic his whole life and enjoys sharing the benefits of chiropractic with others.
Since his journey started in the chiropractic field he has learned to deal with many different types of dysfunction as in sciatic, low back, neck, mid back or extremity pain. He knows that you have to tailor the treatment to the patient, whether that is the young or old or any where in-between. He has also been a patient of chiropractic care his whole life because he understands how important spine and nervous system health is to living a long and pain free life.
When Dr. Homer is not in the office helping people, he likes to go to sporting events, road trips, golf, spending time with his family and spending time outside when the weather allows it.
After graduating from Arizona State with a degree in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, I knew I wanted to continue my education in the health field. I considered nursing school, physical therapy and osteopathic medicine but nothing was in line with my philosophy of health and healing. As fate would have it, while working out, I injured my back and was in desperate need of relief. I found myself in a chiropractic office and to my amazement was up and walking within a couple of visits. My chiropractor shared with me the essence of the chiropractic philosophy was to enable the body’s own innate intelligence to heal itself...no drugs, no side effects, no surgery. Finally, I had found a health system consistent with my philosophy!
Shortly after that, I found myself back in Iowa at Palmer Chiropractic College. Four years of intensive study and an externship trip to Nepal left me with a deep passion and commitment towards helping others in restoring their health.
My vision is to provide life-enhancing chiropractic care to all ages, in an environment which encourages people to embrace greater life expression and continued well-being.
My philosophy is based on the concept that a proactive approach is more sensible than a reactive one. I want to inspire and lead people to be healthier, better human beings, not because they are afraid of, or trying to avoid getting sick, but because they want to be healthy, well and want to get the most out of life!
It is my passion to take care of entire families. Having a specialty in Pregnancy and Pediatrics, I feel it is important for all babies to be checked by a chiropractor after the traumatic birth process. We know that ensuring children’s spine and nervous system are functioning at their best, not only contributes to their overall growth and development, but will produce a much healthier adulthood. Families who make choices for proactive health care are teaching their children that their health is a valuable asset. Young or old, everyone can benefit from better health through chiropractic care and nutrition!
