Dr. Melissa Ellyn Cox, D.C. was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Beardstown, IL. She attended Logan University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology in 2012 and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2014. Dr. Cox grew up wanting to follow in her father’s footsteps, and did just that. She saw her father helping their local community, bettering people’s lives and educating them as a chiropractor.
Throughout her professional journey as a chiropractor, Dr. Cox has learned to serve a variety of patients from babies to grandparents and a range of cases, including migraine relief, sciatica pain, neck pain, and lower back pain through the use of manual manipulation. She has been The Joint’s local chiropractor in Tucson, AZ since October 2017 and is honored to serve the Casa Grande community as well.
Dr. Cox’s passion is seeing her patients live healthier and fuller lives as a result of her chiropractic efforts. Maximizing the connection between the brain and body through a well-adjusted spine leads to each of her patients achieving their health and wellness goals. She particularly enjoys helping those who are skeptical and try chiropractic as a ‘last resort’ and end up loving it and become passionate about routine chiropractic care.
When she is not working at The Joint Chiropractic in Tucson, AZ, Dr. Cox spends her time reading, running or working out. She also can be found spending time with her husband Jordan and her two children.
Dr. Mike McGurn joined The Joint Chiropractic family of local healthcare providers when he arrived at the Tucson clinic locations in December of 2019. Prior to attending chiropractic college, Dr. McGurn went to Palmer Junior College as a Pre-Med student. He has always had a passion for helping others. He also loves that chiropractic care serves as a non-invasive technique to pain relief without the use of drugs.
Over the course of his professional career, Dr. McGurn has learned to serve a range of patients, from grandparents to infants and athletes, all with a range of cases including arthritis, sciatica, low back pain, migraines and more.
