How Back Pain Affects Overall Health
Studies have been performed that have demonstrated that when people have lower back pain, that many of them will also have other conditions. These may be physical, psychological, or emotional. Health problems may vary considerably, but may include headaches, issues in the digestive tract, fatigue, anxiety, and problems with the immune system. These problems will largely stem from the spine not being aligned properly. It can also cause problems for people of all ages.
When there is a misalignment in your spine or neck, it will affect your entire nervous system. In turn, this can affect your entire body and every function in it. A misaligned vertebra is going to put pressure on some nerve, which will cause pain and affect the health of some organ or other part of your body. Since your organs really don't have nerves, you can tell there is a problem by the presence of back pain, or other symptom. Chiropractors refer to the effect that adjustments can make on the whole body as Chiropractic Biophysics.
Even when patients are elderly, many of them are surprised when this treatment is applied. Problems with what is called the sagittal plane often results in serious health problems for the elderly including decreased mobility, not being able to care for themselves, the likelihood of more falls that could lead to more fractures, and even an increased risk of an early death.
For many people, chiropractic care makes a lot of sense. If the patient is elderly, care is given to help them have less pain, better posture, which can lead to better balance and fewer falls, and some experience less depression. Exercises are also given to further improve mobility. Chiropractors continue to help a lot of people. This is true even when regular doctors cannot help, and the best part of it is that there is no surgery and no medications.
