4 Tips to Improve the Results of Your Cleanse
By Virginia Laird
Cleansing is all the rage in the world of wellness these days. With a variety of types, there seems to be one for nearly everyone. And with the wide array of benefits for overall wellness, it is no wonder many have begun to jump on this bandwagon. You may be excited to get started on a cleanse to improve your health and wellness. However, before you begin there are a few things you can do to ensure you get the very best results, including:
- Drink plenty of water
- Make sleep a priority
- Eat clean while on the cleanse
- Exercise lightly while cleansing
Drink Plenty of Water
The idea behind a cleanse is to flush all the toxins out of the body. This is best done when consuming the proper amount of water. It is recommended that the average adult should consume at least half of their body weight in ounces daily.
Make Sleep a Priority
Sleep is another important aspect of a cleanse. During sleep, the body is able to repair itself and help further the cleansing process. Research suggests that the average adult should get a minimum of at least six hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. While getting enough sleep can seem difficult to achieve, sometimes the secret is to go to bed when you are tired. Trying to push through the exhaustion in the evening can be detrimental to your overall sleep that night.
Eat Clean While on the Cleanse
Since the idea behind cleaning is to rid the body of harmful toxins, it is best to eat clean while on the cleanse. To take your health to the next level, it is suggested to continue eating clean longer after the cleanse is completed. Clean eating consists of eating all organic as much as possible. Most people who eat clean also stick to fish and chicken and eliminate red meat from the diet.
Exercise Lightly While Cleansing
Although it may be tempting to head to the gym for an intense workout, health and wellness professionals recommend keeping exercise on the light side while on a cleanse. Cleansing drastically restricts the calories consumed, which can make getting enough energy for a boot camp class difficult to find. Walking is best until you have completed the entire cleansing process.
You are now ready to get the most from your cleanse. Don’t let anything stand in the way of improving your health today.
