Improve Your Health Without Spending a Dime
By Virginia Laird
When it comes to improving your health, many feel the need to spend tons of money on various supplements, products, diet schemes and gym memberships. Health and wellness experts advise there are several things one can do to reap positive results when working on health and wellness without spending a dime. Many of the changes advised by the professionals are so simple they may seem elementary. However, research long proves these can and will work to benefit anyone’s health who chooses to put them to the test. Some of the things recommended include:
- Drink more water
- Make sleep a priority
- Go for a Jog
Drink More Water
In society, far too many choose soda over water. While the crisp taste of the bubbly beverage may put a smile on your face, it is far from healthy. Research suggests that water is the optimal choice of drink when trying to improve your health. It is recommended that you should drink at least half of the body’s weight in ounces daily to maintain proper hydration.
Make Sleep a Priority
While most know sleep is vital in supporting health and wellness, many are guilty of burning the midnight hours trying to accomplish a few more minutes of housework, exercise, or bingeing a favorite television series. Healthcare professionals suggest the average adult should get at least six hours of sleep each night. This can seem far too difficult for parents of young children. While there are no sure answers for how to get enough sleep while worrying with your children, a great place to begin is having a bedtime for everyone in the home.
Go for a Jog
Make time to get some exercise. This does not mean there is a need to spend hours at the gym. Rather, there are a variety of exercises which can be done outside. Jogging is one of the best workouts to build endurance. Fitness experts advise those trying to improve their health should try to carve out at least 15 minutes each day to jog or walk.
As you set out on your path to a healthier you, health and wellness professionals suggest when the path seems difficult, it is the time to put forth the most effort and determination. In just a few short weeks, you are sure to see some positive changes. Good luck!
