3 Choices Healthy People Make

By Virginia Laird

Take a long look at those who you consider to be super healthy. Many of them are fantastic at making healthy choices. If you are like me, giving up soda, chocolate, and other tasty treats can prove to be the breaking point following an extremely healthy lifestyle. While I do eat my fair share of vegetables, I am certain there are other things which I can do to improve my health. Those who live the healthiest of lifestyles include doing the following:

  • Healthy people drink water
  • Healthy people exercise
  • Healthy people choose to get enough sleep

Healthy People Drink Water

One choice healthy people make is to always choose water over soda, juice, or any other beverage. The body needs water to function and maintain a healthy digestive system. Without water the body is left susceptible to illness and other diseases. Water adds zero extra calories to the body while keeping hydrated. Water also helps to keep the skin looking young and beautiful. Research suggests there is no replacement for water. Health and wellness experts advise it is best to drink at least half of your body weight in ounces each day. Like it or not, start drinking your fair share right away.

Exercise is One Habit of Healthy Individuals

Most people you consider super healthy also exercise on a routine basis. Those who make exercise part of their daily activity often find themselves at a lower risk of heart disease and illnesses. If you are ready to make exercise part of your daily routine, a gym membership may be for you. However, if you are not ready to commit to such a financial burden, walking daily can be sufficient.

Healthy People Choose to Get Enough Sleep

Another habit healthy people choose is getting plenty of sleep. Health and wellness experts suggest that those who sleep enough have a stronger immune system than those who do not. Sleep also helps reduce stress and promotes mental clarity. The average adult should be getting at least six hours of sleep each night. If you are ready to improve your health it may be necessary to give yourself a bedtime starting tonight.

You are now ready to begin making these healthy choices part of your reality. Giving up some of the old habits in order to make these choices may be a battle. However, your health is always worth the struggle to make improvements.
