4 Things Fit People Do Every Day
By Genevieve Cunningham
Most people have the desire to be fit and in shape. Even though most of us are walking around with a few extra pounds, we wish and sometimes even work toward a better body. Unfortunately, most of us never quite reach that perfect physique. What are we doing wrong? While it's possible that we're not doing anything wrong at all and we'll just never match up to the expectations in our heads, it's also possible that we're making tiny decisions that impact our health in a big way. If you want to push your body and health in a better direction, take a look at these four things that fit people do every day.
Choose Water
As boring as it sounds, truly fit people choose water. They may have a cup of coffee or tea, but you won't see them buying cases of sodas or energy drinks. These drinks contain massive caffeine but more importantly, they contain massive amounts of sugar that lead to weight gain. If you want to be fit, you need to choose water more often than not.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleep is not something to be taken lightly. Fit people make sleep a priority. Do they ever stay up late working or having fun? Of course they do! But they don't do it every night, and they don't make a lack of sleep a badge of honor. If you need one single step to move in a healthier direction, make sleep a nonnegotiable.
Stop Eating
Fit people know when to stop eating. They don't starve themselves, but they understand how to eat what they need and then stop. So many of us eat because it tastes good or because we're bored. Learn how to stop eating, and you'll likely cut your calories with this one step alone.
Move
Fit people are not sedentary. Sure, they have their TV binges and their lazy days. But they are not going to be found on the couch all day every day. They move! They exercise and walk and stretch and make movement a regular aspect of life. If you're not moving, make a few moments every day to move on purpose, and you'll be headed in the right direction.
If you want to be fit, you should probably do what other fit people do. You don't have to copy their schedule, but it's not a bad idea to follow their lead. Use these tips to get your health and body moving in the right direction, and you'll be able to enjoy better health and a body you love before you know it.
