4 Fun Ways to Get Fit
By Brandi Goodman
Your body needs exercise to thrive. It can be difficult to work out when you feel like you're being forced to, though. Knowing you have to exercise for your health and actually enjoying exercise are two completely different things. With some fun ways to get fit, you'll feel more excited about the prospect and possibly even look forward to it.
Indoor Rock Climbing
Don't head out to the mountains for your first time rock climbing. It can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Instead, give indoor rock climbing a try. The activity may be completely different than what you're used to -- but it can offer a unique workout that keeps you motivated. Attend weekly and work to improve your strength and make a longer journey each time. You'll feel amazing once you finally reach the top. Rockreation Sport Climbing Center is one option in Costa Mesa.
Rollerblading
Put on a pair of rollerblades and cruise along the walkways in town. This exercise puts a lot of focus on your legs -- boosting your lower body strength. It offers a great cardio workout, as well, getting your heart rate going and burning lots of calories in the process. You can check out the Costa Mesa Skate Park if you're looking to blade or try out skateboarding.
Dancing
Dancing is great exercise. There are also numerous ways to engage in this type of activity. Get up and dance in your living room to your favorite songs. Head to a club and spend the night dancing. You can even take dance lessons and learn various new moves and techniques. Change it up so your body is always adapting and being challenged -- which is necessary for continued weight loss.
Volunteering
Volunteer opportunities vary drastically. Anything that has you up and moving, though, will prove to be an effective workout. You'll get to meet new people, help others, and get fit at the same time. Find something that really focuses on a lot of movement for even better results. Help out at an animal shelter, for example. All of that time spent playing, bathing, and chasing dogs can give you a lot of exercise for one day.
These fun ways to get fit can help break you out of your routine. Don't feel stuck working out in a way that doesn't suit you. Instead, give some new options a try and find an exercise routine that keeps you motivated.
