Simple Tricks of Self-Care

Now, more than ever, it's important to learn how to do proper self care. It's easy to be overwhelmed with everything life has to throw you, and it's easy to berate yourself when things go badly. Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders can take a toll on your mental and physical health, so here are a few tips to help you put your self-care first no matter how busy your schedule may be. 

A Morning Routine

It's hard for me to get up in the morning, it's even more difficult for me to accomplish anything. That's why a morning routine is so important. Make a morning routine that will help you prepare for the stress you're going to deal with during the day. You could choose to meditate every morning or to relax over a cup of coffee while you read the news.

Days Off

It sometimes seems that there is so much to do oh, you can't take any free time. It's important to schedule days off. It allows you to disconnect from work and gives your body the chance to relax and release any stress or tension it has accumulated.

Family and Friends

It's important that you make time for family and friends. You might have a small social connection with your co-workers but the social connection you have with your close family and friends goes much deeper and goes a long way to helping boost your mood.

Get Creative

When were you last creative? Creativity not only helps to refresh your mind, it taps into a different area of the brain. Exercising creativity may go a long way toward helping you at your day job. Don't be discouraged if you've never painted or played an instrument, there are tons of ways that you can get creative, from designing video games to taking photos to doing arts and crafts with your children.

Simple Tasks

High stress people often have a difficult time getting started because their task list is long and intimidating. Start out every day by completing a few simple tasks. This will help jump-start your productivity as well as your confidence. Simple tasks can include things like making your bed or reorganizing your desk. 

Taking time for self-care is not only important, it's vital. Self-care allows your body and mind to relax and let go of any stress that you're holding onto. It's truly the best way to do your best work.
