Is It Better to Sleep in a Warm Room?
By Tom Herrin
For those who struggle with what may otherwise be ordinary, daily parts of living, it can be pretty difficult. Doing what should come easy can create some trying situations. Whether it is sleeping, being active, or studying, there are times in which it may be better to create an environment that is more conducive for it to take place. Does this sound like just so much rhetoric? The fact is that some things really can be better when the right situation is present. In some of these cases, the proper temperature may help an individual to improve their life.
Cool May Be Best for Sleeping
Many people struggle with sleeping. Whether it is due to stress, health issues, or some other reason, sleeplessness can wear out anyone. It is one of those things that really get the best of anyone. The good news is that the right temperature may help to fix the problem. Some believe the best range is between 65 and 72 degrees. Apparently temps that are too warm can interfere with Rapid Eye Movement. Going through the proper sleep cycles is an important part of getting quality sleep.
Weight Management May Need Temperature Support
Trying to lose weight can be disappointing and frustrating. Anytime someone can create a situation that can help them to find success, they may be all about it. Some studies have shown that there may be a prime range of temperatures that best accommodate such efforts. Apparently this range is from 64 to 67 degrees. That doesn't leave much room for guessing. It has also been said that shivering, as from the cold, may increase the metabolism several times. Of course, no one should do this excessively, but it may not be so bad to be a little cold, at times.
The General Message
I feel like controlling the temperature has enough benefits for me to do it. I always turn our controls down before going to bed each night. It seems to help me sleep more soundly. When I have tried to lose weight, I have also done this in spring or fall because it appeared to complement my efforts. If this is all it may take for either of these things, it may not be so bad as it requires very little sacrifice. Most of us are looking for that all of the time.
