3 Exercises to Get Your Heart Pumping
By Genevieve Cunningham
For a lot of people, exercise should be hard work. They don’t want a gentle yoga flow or a simple walk in the park. They want something that makes them sweat! But unless you’re well versed in fitness or a part of a really good gym, you may be running out of workout ideas. If this is you, take a look at these three great exercises that can get your heart pumping and challenge you like never before.
Sprinting
Forget running or jogging. If you want to increase your heart rate and get your body sweating, do some sprints. Mark off a particular distance, and run as fast as you possibly can. It will hurt, but it will also work. This exercise will have your lungs and legs burning in no time at all. You’ll burn massive calories, work the muscles, and improve your stamina. It’s an excellent way to get fit, and if you’re looking for something really difficult, sprinting is a good place to begin. And since you're in Huntington Beach, running in the sand at the beach will make the workout even more challenging.
Step Aerobics
You might hear the word aerobics and think of middle aged women in matching tights. But this old image is nothing like a real class! A real aerobics class is hard! It involves fast-paced music, moves that target each muscle in the body, and plenty of cardio to really get your heart rate up. And with step aerobics, you can add the difficulty of a step of varying heights. Check out your local gym to find a class and give it a try.
CrossFit
This is a dynamic workout that includes strength training, cardio, stretching, and power moves. It’s really tough, but those who love it really, really love it! And it will absolutely cause excessive sweating and an increased heart rate. In order to find a CrossFit gym, otherwise known as a box, just do a quick Google search for your area. Be prepared to be sore, challenged, and possibly motivated like never before.
If you want to be challenged in your exercise routine, you have to choose wisely. There are plenty of great exercises out there that can make you burn. Find something you like, and use it to get fit and healthy. Use these three exercises as a jumping off point, and get in the best shape of your life in no time at all.
