Dr. Goebel is a Southern California native and grew up in the South Bay. She graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College Los Angeles in 2003.
Dr. Goebel came to The Joint in July of 2020, after many years in private practice in both Torrance and Oceanside. She has numerous certifications in functional nutrition, hormone balancing, hypnotherapy, Webster Technique for pregnant patients, and is also a certified medical thermographer.
Dr G or as her pediatric patients call her, Dr. April, is dedicated to helping families. She decided a little later in life that she wanted to change career paths. “I knew I wanted to work in a profession that truly helped people and had a positive impact on their lives. My mom is a retired nurse, and I was a certified medical assistant years ago. I wanted to do more than either of those professions could offer.”
She successfully managed the demands of attending school while being a single mom. Her daughter was just six years old when she started her undergraduate work, and it was a great accomplishment to finish school while raising her. She found out during her internship that her daughter had scoliosis and she has been under chiropractic care ever since. “She rarely gets sick and if she does, she bounces back very quickly because she gets regular adjustments. Keeping my loved ones healthy in this challenging world is important to me.” Her daughter who is also in a health-related field says, “I don’t know what I would do without chiropractic.”
Why Chiropractic? Dr. April was attracted to Chiropractic as she has a helping nature and takes a hands-on approach to most everything. She loves to help better other people’s lives and Chiropractic allows her to do that. She enjoys adjusting the whole family so that everyone is healthy and has less stress. “How great to be able to help families in this way!”

When she wants a comforting snack, she is going to pop her own popcorn and add avocado oil, salt, and probably a little pepper. “If you’re going to do it you may as well do it right.” She likes to make natural remedies from essential oils in her spare time and if you think you have seen the doctor somewhere before it could be on TV. Second, most of the time they don’t even have a Dr in and don’t even get me started with Dr. Tom horrible customer service. You also spend more time in the waiting room than the actual table which is ridiculous. And lastly I canceled my membership in person and an online form and they still charge my card when I called back for a refund they say they will put in the request and what called back a week later and they said they don’t have any request for a refund or a cancellation form from me this is very inconvenient

1 5 1Went in for an alignment , this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. He started with a great neck crack and then tapped my back and said ok all done literally 38 seconds. So maybe I thought hmm it’s just me. So I sat there while my cousin got the same adjustment “ neck crack followed by pay on the back and oh this is gonna take weekly visits… this is a total rip off. 45 dollars for ten minute interview and a 2 second neck crack. Will not return and will not let my veterans know to stay away.

This was my first time in this location, I feel like the Dr., which name is Dr. Tom that l've found out after a week of returning to my home clinic was rushing me so much even though there was nobody in line. I was in and out of the clinic 2-3minutes. I get that you might be tired or exhausted from the whole day but please don't make somebody feel bad about being adjusted on a different location. You even cut me off when I was trying to tell you that I'm hurting on a specific location on my back, all you did was to rush and get over with it. I would've understand if there was a long line but there wasn't. You even said "Ok go back to your home clinic next week (and when I looked at you, you added) or you can go back here" bro, you don't tell patients to go back to their home clinic that way you did. You have the skills obviously but missed on the opportunity to listen to your patient. I would not be back on this location and this isn't personal, this is just my experience, and hopefully you don't do this kind of treatment to others.

5 5 1I've had lower back issues ever since I was a kid (very active tomboy). Nothing that is debilitating, just annoying. X-rays show that my lower spine is curved and, after being treated by Dr. Arthur Lewis, I was surprised to learn that my lower spine also TWISTS, resulting in my left hip being higher than my right. My neck is also a constant source of "I need a new neck" type of thoughts. Weekly adjustments help immensely to combat the daily grind of life. The doctors at the Lakewood location are top-notch & super knowledgeable, and the receptionists are always so welcoming and friendly! I feel like I'm truly cared about and not just another patient.
