No Time? No Problem! How to Boost Health Anyway

By Genevieve Cunningham

It seems as though everyone everywhere is short on time. We're all rushing around from one activity or obligation to another. We rarely stop to breathe or relax. While this may seem like a necessary part of life, the truth is that all of this rushing gets in the way of our own self-care. Of course, it's not always possible to slow down immediately. If you're totally out of time, take a look at these ways to boost your health in the little moments each day.

Sneak In Exercise

Most of us think of exercise in a certain way. We think about joining a class at a gym. We think about running a mile or two. But when you don't have any time left, these things make their way to the bottom of the list. Instead, try to look at working out differently. Sneak in movement whenever you can get it. Take the stairs instead of an escalator. Walk through the parking lot instead of circling for a front row spot. These little moments add up, so make them count until some of your time is freed up again.

Make Sure You Sleep

If you're feeling like you're stretched thin, you have to make sure you're getting enough sleep. If there's one thing that you can't afford to skimp on, it's definitely sleep! Go to bed on time and wake up early. Take naps when necessary. Getting enough sleep will make your busy life easier, and it will also keep your health intact while you're constantly on the move.

Prep Your Food

It's crucial that you eat well, but when you're busy, you're way more likely to swing through the drive thru to make things easier. Instead of choosing this incredibly unhealthy option, make your food ahead of time. Plan your snacks, your meals, and emergency plans. Use your crock pot. Eat raw foods so that you save time on cooking. The more prepared you are with your food, the easier it is to stick to a healthy eating plan and keep yourself healthy no matter how much time you have -- or don't have! -- to spare.

It's a busy world that we live in. We like to stay involved and active, and that can be a good thing. But don't let your busy lifestyle ruin your health. Use these tips to keep yourself healthy when you're out of time and you may be able to save your health for years to come.
