By Virginia Laird
Have you ever had a day that just seems to get started off on the wrong foot? You are not alone. Millions across the nation have suffered with the same issue. While this is not a huge issue, it can be enough to ruin your day. There is plenty to do to help you turn a bad day into a good day. Health and wellness professionals recommend that taking control of fitness and healthy routines can play a role in decreasing one’s attitude. A few tips these professionals advise to turn your frown frown upside down include:
- Make time to exercise
- Eat healthy
- Drink more water
- Take a nap
Make Time to Exercise
If you are looking for a way to stop a bad day from taking control of your life, it may be time to consider exercising routinely. It has been proven through research that exercise produces hormones in the body which can make you feel good. Working out is also a great way to release tension which can be the culprit of a rough day. The next time you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, consider going for a quick morning walk or plan a few minutes to take it out and a lunchtime exercise class. Making time to exercise can help you turn your bad day and a bad attitude into something great.
Believe it or not, eating healthy can impact your overall attitude and well-being. The old saying "you are what you eat" is actually true. When you eat junk day after day, meal after meal, it is easy to feel like junk and run down. However, as you fill your life with healthy meals you may find that you have more energy feel more productive and/or more ready to go about life with a positive attitude.
Drink More Water
Because water helps wash away toxins, it can be easy to believe that drinking plenty of water can help you have a better attitude. As toxins in the body can affect your mental health it is wise to be sure you drink plenty of water. Research suggests that you should drink at least half of your body weight in ounces each day to maintain proper hydration.
Take a Nap
When you wake up with a bad attitude, go ahead and plan for a 15- to 20-minute nap sometime in your near future. A short nap can go a long way toward changing your attitude from sour to sweet. The next time you wake up on the wrong side of the power of the pillow, plan a lunchtime nap or maybe a mid-morning one.
With all this information it is easy to see that it can be possible to change your frown to a smile with just a little bit of work; in no time you will be singing your morning away.
