What I’ve learned after going to The Joint for over a year and trying the Grenada Hills, Van Nuys and North Hollywood locations, along with a location in Minnesota and Colorado is: INCONSISTENCY For what I’m paying, I do have realistic expectations. If you want more customized care, then it understandably will be a greater investment. However, the spectrum of care at The Joint is too broad in my opinion and leads to me feeling disappointed. One day, I’ll receive a proper 15 minute adjustment where the chiropractor does a thorough body scan to see what is out of balance, uses confident but gentle touch, and eases my body into each adjustment so I don’t feel like I’ve been aggressively contorted. The next day, the chiropractor won’t even feel my back before adjusting, excludes the helpful adjustments that I typically receive so that I have to ask for them specifically and two minutes later, I’m out the door. Yes — everyone will have different styles, but I think there should be a better baseline of care (especially when it comes to working with the spine).

Reception was great However Dr. Bystrom is very unpleasant, with a condescending bad side manner and really not a professional at his job. His adjusting methods are aggressive and lacking basic treatment areas, as well as guidance to the patient. For a person who has no experience this might look like good work, sadly, it’s far from it. My first and last time in this clinic.

My nephew Joe sent me to you all because I had a lot of pain in my sciatica. My English is not very well and I explain to the doctor what is happening. They did not want to work on me and they told me I am better off to use my Medi-Cal/insurance. I am shocked and in disbelief that they did not even try to help me. My nephew called back and asked what happened and they said they do not work on 65 and older, are you kidding me? Matter of fact, the young lady in the front at first refuse to help me fill out the proper documentation because my English is not very well. I came in there hurting and I walked out of there hurting. I will never use you all again ever in my life and this was not a misunderstanding I feel as I was discriminated against my age.

One of your workers with a blonde pony tail was directly in front of the entrance to Chipolte on Burbank and Van Nuys Blvd smoking a cigarette. She could not have been more than 5 feet from the door. Cigarette smoke spoiling the air outside and being sucked into the restaurant. Not only that, guess what she does with the butt? Drops it on the ground! If she did not have on the black uniform with the words Joint Chiropractic I would not be able to bring this to your attention. She represents you when she’s in the uniform, and that’s why I’m bringing this to your attention! If I were shopping for a chiropractic office, based on this event, I would not choose you.

I would give 0 stars but it’s not an option. They have been charging me for 3 months and I haven’t been there all those 3 months when I signed up the lady never told me I had to come in and cancel. She said after two months it would be canceled since that’s how long I wanted it for. And now they are telling me there’s no way I can get a refund on the charges even though I haven’t been going these past couple months.

I have been coming here since when they 1st opened. All the doctors from Dr Fish when he was here til now w/Dr. Bystrom are well versed at what they do. I'm pretty active, surf, snowboard & bike so I need they care they provide in order to keep my machine running. The friendly staff always gets me checked in promptly for my adjustments. They also have locations in other states & have used their services in Portland OR, a big plus in my book. Affordability is key as well. I have used services all over the Valley & LA for adjustmmenst & The Joint provides 10 star treatments at a a very low cost.

I just called this location to ask them to cancel the charges on my bank account since I haven't been able to utilize it for most of this year. The girl who took my call was incredibly hostile toward me. She stated that I have to come into a store to fill out papers that have my medical records encrypted on the paper in order to cancel my membership! WHAT?? I simple asked her to please email me the cancelation form and she she they cant do that..WOW What a horrible person and company! I will never go back or refer anyone ever again! But I will let my 100K instargramers know about this experience and to stay away! Unbelievable!

One thing I don't appreciate from the front desk is an inaccurate wait time. Don't tell people 15 mins when you know there is a hour wait. I think they should have a designated person who treats new patients as the wait takes longer. Each new patient takes at least 30 mins and when you have 2 new patients and each doctor takes one your wait time gets longer. I am definitely not going to renew my plan once this one is over. I also don't like the fact you never see the same doctor. It's always some one new so it's hard for them pin point your actual problems and concerns.

I sought out chiropractic care becuase I have been feeling pain and stiffness in my back (particularly lower), pain and stiffness in my neck, and some migraine headaches. My hip was hurting bad enough to seek care, skateboarding made it worse, but is a hobby of mine. It has helped me walk normal again instead of semi-limping. When I first started coming to The Joint in October 2015, I was experiencing hip pain that I couldn't explain. My doctor said I might have to get physical therapy or even surgery eventually. I'm a fairly active and healthy person, so I was surprised. I decided to just try seeing a chiropractor in hopes that it would help. I never write reviews but anyone who is having back pain will benefit from this review. Two months ago my back locked up after a workout.
