Meet The Doctors

Dr. Brandon Sager, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Loveland

My name is R. Brandon Sager. I grew up in a small town in northeast Washington State. I studied applied kinesiology at Central Washington University. I went to Chiropractic College in California at Life Chiropractic College West. I’ve lived in Colorado for seven years now, my fiancé and I have five kids. We all enjoy the outdoors and my hobbies include hunting and fishing.

Dr. Scott Heiser joined the team at The Joint Chiropractic in 2010 and finds it gratifying to provide healthcare services at more than one clinic location, including Loveland, Fort Collins, and Fort Collins South.

“I enjoy helping patients experience pain relief and take steps toward wellness with consistent chiropractic care,” he says, “and the reward of being part of the wellness process with patients.”

Dr. Scott, as his patients call him, grew up in northern Illinois where his sports background enabled him to see the effect that chiropractic care had on himself and others around him. He previously worked in DeWitt, Iowa, before moving to Colorado.

Dr. Scott met his wife, Julie, while completing a Doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. She is a marathon runner and volleyball player. They have one daughter and two sons who are also active and enjoy sports, including baseball and bowling. The family has a golden retriever named Wrigley.

Dr. Scott loves baseball, football, hiking, camping, and spending time in the mountains. He found his calling as a chiropractor when he spent a year suffering from migraines, and after two adjustments they were gone. "The power that made the body heals the body."

One of his most memorable experiences as a chiropractor occurred while practicing in Bolivia and a patient was brought in on a stretcher. “He had previously been advised to stay seated or lie down due to the amount of back pain he was experiencing,” Dr. Scott says. “I checked him two times over two days, and on the third day he walked across the room after not standing or walking for nearly five years.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Scott always has salsa in his refrigerator. “The whole family loves salsa.”

If he could host a dinner party and invite four famous guests, he would include Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Babe Ruth, and Barry Sanders. “I would enjoy listening to four people who played and lived at such a high level.”

One of the greatest experiences of Dr. Scott’s life was traveling to Bolivia and working at a hospital there. “It put a lot of things in perspective.”

If he wrote an autobiography, the title would be Go Hard and Then Find Time to Relax.

A helpful life hack he’s received is: "Do what you do as well as you can do it." A favorite piece of advice he likes to offer is: “Don’t waste what is freely given.”

Dr. Nicholas Wohlers, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Loveland

Dr. Nicholas Wohlers joined The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2024 when he began serving residents in Loveland, where he relishes the opportunity to do the work he finds so rewarding.

“I love being able to enhance the body’s ability to adapt to the environment and heal naturally, helping people function at their highest potential,” he says. “I love being able to show people that pain does not have to be a permanent part of their lives.”

Dr. Nicholas, as his patients call him, is originally from Sheridan, Wyoming. “Growing up in Wyoming teaches a person to work hard and endure challenges, no matter how hard they may seem,” he says.

He has a cat named Zelda and two dogs – an Australian shepherd named Angwyn and a German shepherd named Keira.

“I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors, going to the park, playing catch, and riding bikes,” he says. “We spend time playing board games and building pieces of art, and we also like learning how to play various instruments.”

He went to the University of Wyo. where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. He got a Doctorate of Chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas.

Dr. Nicholas was injured while playing high contact sports and after several months the pain did not subside. He consulted a friend who was a chiropractor who agreed to treat him. “The problem that had been tormenting me for months was gone in one adjustment,” he says. “When I was an intern for a chiropractic clinic I was able to fully gain an appreciation for what we can do to help people. I made my decision then and there to apply to chiropractic school.”

One of the most memorable experiences Dr. Nicholas has ever had was as an intern working with the Veterans Administration. “While I was there I was able to treat a large array of difficult, non-standard patients,” he says. “One patient, through thorough examination, showed he had developed an advanced upper and lower motor neuron lesion in his brain. We were able to refer him to a neurologist and get him the treatment he needed.”

Dr. Nicholas really likes his coworkers in the Loveland clinic. “You can feel how much the owner of the clinic loves his patients and wants what is best for them,” he says. “He really wants his doctors to be taken care of so they can give their all to their patients.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

He always keeps bacon and Brussels sprouts on hand.

If Dr. Nicholas could plan the ideal dinner party including famous guests he would invite: Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein, Jim Carrey, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and soccer legend Pele. One of the coolest experiences of Dr. Nicholas’ life was the opportunity to hold a training session with the world’s strongest woman. “She was the only woman to ever pull a railroad steam engine by herself,” he says. “She was a cancer survivor who saved herself through strong man training. She taught me to be strong of mind and keep going, no matter what troubles stand in her way.”

Dr. Nicholas’ favorite book is The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell.
