Get Happy for Your Health!
By Sara Butler
Everyone knows that too much stress is bad for you, but researchers are just beginning to understand the connection of happiness to your overall health. How can you start to feel happier all the time? Well, there are some really simple strategies you can use to keep your mood stable all day, boost energy, and keep your good mood going. Work a few of these suggestions into your day and see how your happiness benefits.
Drink Water
Your body needs a balance of fluid to keep it going and dehydration can impact you in some pretty surprising ways. If you’re not getting enough water each day you can get headaches, feel fatigued, have problems concentrating, and even feel bummed out. If you drink water regularly throughout the day, you can keep your mind and body full of energy. Keep a water bottle on hand and remember to sip throughout the day.
Exercise
Making time for regular exercise most days of the week is important to physical and mental health. Regular exercise can impact your mood by helping you to feel more confident as it floods your system with natural mood stabilizers called endorphins. They’ll make you feel great and relaxed, which can help you to better handle feelings of anxiety and stress.
Get in the Groove
A morning routine is essential in order to start your day off on the right foot. If you start each day chaotically, then that can impact how you feel well into the afternoon. So get up and spend a few minutes each morning setting goals and getting centered. Incorporating mindful tasks into morning routine can help you meet the challenges of the day head-on and feel better doing it.
Give Yourself a Break
Most people are way too tough on themselves. Goals you set for yourself, especially the big ones, take a long time to accomplish. That’s why it’s important to celebrate milestones along the way and reward yourself accordingly. Treat yourself by taking a day off and doing something fun. Whatever you do, don’t waste any energy putting yourself down. Just try to keep moving forward with a good attitude and being kind to yourself.
Don't worry so much and just be happy! These little steps can take you a long way!
