Sharing Happiness to Boost Mental Health

Happiness Happens Month in August was created with the goal of sharing happiness. Learn to celebrate all the things that make you happy and share those things with others around you. It's a great way to boost your own mental health as well as improve the well-being of your friends, family, and even strangers as well. Happiness happens when you allow yourself to feel the joy around you rather than focus on the sorrow.
Smile at Everyone You Come Across
A simple smile can go a long way. Smile at everyone you come across. When you're walking down the street and you pass people by, smile at them. When you're heading into the store and someone else walks out, smile at them. Smile at the driver as you get on the bus. Smile at the waiter as he approaches your table. A genuine smile can make the other person smile too, creating a moment of happiness that otherwise would not have been there.
If you pass by a person on the street and you think their hair looks great, tell them. Don't be shy about it. Someone hearing a compliment can be instantly put into a better mood. The positivity shared is a great way to boost happiness and help turn someone's day around. Give out compliments anytime they come to mind, whether you like someone's shoes, think their shirt is cool, or think a person looks pretty or handsome that day, share that with them.
Leave Notes Laying Around
Whether you choose to leave notes laying around for your family or want to share some positivity by leaving notes in the park or even bathroom stalls, a simple note is a great way to spread happiness. Jot down a positive thought or tell the person to have a great day. It's sure to bring a smile to the face of the person who ends up finding it and reading it.
Gift Something You Enjoy
You can share the happiness something brings you by gifting it to another person. You don't have to give up your particular belonging if you don't want, but you can find a replica or similar items that can help to make another person just as happy as you feel. If you feel happy using your paint set, for example, then buy some paint materials and gift them to kids in the neighborhood or perhaps a local shelter. You could also create some paintings to hang up in locations around town instead. People receiving these gifts or seeing these pictures will get a burst of happiness for their soul.
Share your happy thoughts and feelings with others and watch as the world transforms. A little more happiness and light can go a long way toward making yourself and others feel joyful and blessed. Share your happiness and boost your own mental health and the mental well-being of others around you.
