Your Healthy Holiday Inspiration
By Brandi Goodman
Staying healthy throughout the holidays can sometimes be difficult to manage. Far too many temptations surround us. Find some healthy holiday inspiration to help yourself stay on track this season.
"The 12 Ways to Health" Holiday Song
The Centers for Disease Control has put together a holiday song that inspires people to maintain their health and well-being. Listen to this tune throughout this season anytime you find yourself struggling. It's done to the tune of "The 12 Days of Christmas." The song starts -- "the first way to health, said the CDC to me, wash hands to be safe and healthy." You'll get lots of great advice such as this as you listen.
Holiday Health Blogs
Check out some holiday health blogs for further inspiration. There's lots to read that can help you find ways to stay healthy, avoid burnout, balance food and fitness, avoid stress, and more. The Health Advocate blog is an especially inspiring one to read. The Joint Chiropractic also offers inspiring advice during the holidays and after.
Recipe Books and Sites
Lots of recipes get made during the holidays. Be sure you're choosing nutritious options that are beneficial to your body by looking at health-inspired recipe books and sites. Food Network offers "The Best & Lightest" healthy recipes cookbook. You can check their website for healthy dishes as well. You can even find a "Keto Thanksgiving & Christmas Cookbook" with lots of low-carb recipes from Amazon. These will help you to stay on track with your diet and not go overboard on eating sugary treats and fattening foods.
Christmas Devotional
You can find a Christmas or Holiday Devotional book and journal online or in stores. These books help you stay inspired as well as jot down your thoughts and feelings so you can maintain your mental well-being. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Use a device like this if you need the extra motivation. Some offer related prayers for the occasion and others provide family time activities that encourage you to find time for your loved ones.
Maintain your health this holiday by keeping yourself inspired. Your well-being is important to consider even as the holiday season approaches and brings with it a slew of temptations. It's fine to get off track and indulge once in a while but it's better to do your best to keep your wellness in mind so you can enjoy the season with good health.
