5 Fun Activities You Can Do in the Fall
By Brandi Swieter
Fall is full of activities that can be done with others. Just because summer is over and some cold weather is starting doesn’t mean people can’t enjoy some time outdoors spent with family or friends. At least five fun activities exist that you can do in the fall.
Go Apple Picking
Apple picking is a traditional fall activity that many families enjoy. Visit a nearby orchard, or even one farther away if you’re willing to travel, and walk through the trees collecting the best apples you see. Not only is this a favorite fall pastime, it also promotes health due to the apples people consume after they’ve been picked. Apples contain lots of vital nutrients and vitamins.
Take a Hayride
A hayride is offered at many fall festivals or orchard locations. It gives people the opportunity to take a break and relax while riding through the wilderness and enjoying the sights along the way. It’s a fun activity that leaves many feeling stress-free and relaxed. If you tend to get scratched by the hay or it feels rough to you, then bring a blanket to sit on so the activity can still be enjoyed.
Get Lost in a Corn Maze
A corn maze is another common option offered in the fall. Children and adults alike can enjoy this option. Kids most likely will prefer attempting an average corn maze during daytime hours that has them wandering through the corn stalks trying to find the correct way out. Adults or teenagers may be more into the haunted corn maze options that occur at night and may be scary. Either option provides a fun fall activity for people to enjoy during the season. Most run until Halloween.
Walk a Nature Trail
Too many people stick to the summer months to walk nature trails in their area. Though the green leaves and full trees can be a pretty sight to see, fall leaves changing colors is even better. Anyone hoping to experience the beauty of nature in the fall can walk a trail.
Tailgate
Tailgating starts in the fall during football season. You don’t have to get out to a professional game. High school football provides an opportunity to get out in the fall and cheer for the local team. Tailgate with friends or family in the parking lot before the big game, enjoying a healthy meal while socializing with others. Bring some bottles of water, homemade pumpkin seeds, and other fall treats to enjoy.
Fall activities include a number of outdoor options. Pick just one or all of them to enjoy this autumn and get outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery surrounding you. Each of these options is healthy to enjoy as they get you outside and feeling relaxed and well.
