Move Upon Waking

As soon as you wake up, it's time to move. Get up and stretch. Get up and walk. The faster you get your body moving, the more calories you'll start to burn. The faster your metabolism will begin working. It's not an easy task since most of us are less than enthused about the morning hours, but if you can make movement a habit first thing, you'll likely find more movement all day and the pounds begin to drop overall. 

Water Before Every Meal

You probably already know that you should drop soda and other flavored drinks to lose weight, but that's a lot easier said than done. Instead of worrying over quitting soda, just add water. Before breakfast, drink a glass of water. And then do the same before lunch and dinner. By adding a glass of water, you'll hydrate your body and keep the stomach feeling full so that eating more food just isn't as appealing as it used to be.

Cut Off Your Nighttime Food

Late night snacking isn't your friend. Eating late at night and then immediately going to sleep has been linked to weight gain time and again. It keeps you from burning the calories that you just put into your body. And it doesn't give you any time for digestion either. Instead, enlist a cutoff eating time. After a certain hour, don't eat or drink anything but water. It might take a little adjusting, but the overall weight loss will be worth the effort.
