Dr. David Olt grew up in the Midwest, living in both Dayton, Ohio and Indianapolis Indiana. He continued his education by attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business.

He came from a family who believed in chiropractic and remembers going with his mother for her adjustments when her back went out. His grandmother was also a big advocate and continued receiving care into her 90’s. Dr. Olt’s first adjustment came when he was 16 after being injured playing tennis.

Upon graduating college he spent 3 years in Pittsburgh, PA as a retail executive but moved to Atlanta in 1989 to be with friends and soon started at Life University where he graduated Cum Laude in 1994. He then practiced for a year in northwest Indiana, 5 years as an Independent Contractor, and ultimately opened Integrated Chiropractic Center In Buckhead and served that community for 15 years. In July 2016, he joined the team at the Joint and splits his time between the Buckhead and Chastain Square offices.

Personal honors in his life have been running the Olympic Torch in 1996, receiving the 4 Avenues of Service Award from Rotary in 1998 and Member of the Year from the AGLCC in 2014. He is also one of the examiners for the Chiropractic National Boards.

His favorite catch phrase is “I’m always doing my best work behind your back”.

Dr. Clyde Jean has been with The Joint Chiropractic family of local healthcare providers since 2015, and has been the local chiropractor at the Sandy Springs clinic location since 2018. A graduate of State University of New York at New Paltz, he received a bachelor’s degree in organismal and environmental biology before getting a doctorate of chiropractic from Life University.

“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is sports enhancement,” Dr. Jean says. “The thing I love about this field is that it’s drug-free.”

Raised in California and New York, Dr. Jean has worked in Atlanta, Cumming, and Marietta prior to Sandy Springs.

When he has spare time away from his teacher-of-the-year wife and their son and daughter, Dr. Jean enjoys dirt biking, mountain biking, hiking, personal training, competition shooting, and playing lacrosse.

It was an incident on a bicycle that Dr. Jean discovered his calling. “I had a bad mountain biking accident and was in pretty rough shape,” he says. “My condition was going nowhere with traditional medicine. A chiropractor got me back to health and it changed my path from going to veterinarian school to chiropractic.”

For more than 30 years Dr. Jean has been involved in sports, ranging from personal and team trainer and chiropractor to coach to athlete. “I understand the mechanisms of injury along with the treatment and rehabilitative process,” he says. “That’s why I like working at the Sandy Springs location so much, because there are a lot of athletic patients who want to excel.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Jean says the one thing he always has in his refrigerator is almond milk: “It’s versatile for shakes.”

If he could bring together any four characters from history to comprise his dream dinner party, Dr. Jean would have plenty to talk about. “I would invite legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden because he’s a master motivator,” he says. “Alexander Dumas is my favorite author, Anthony Hopkins is my favorite actor, and I’d like psychiatrist Sigmund Freud to pick his brain.”

The coolest thing that Dr. Jean has done, he says, is downhill mountain biking “because of the adrenaline rush.”
