3 Quick and Easy Ways to Exercise Every Day
By Genevieve Cunningham
Everyone knows that exercise is an important part of life, but making sure that we have enough time to do it isn’t always as easy. Life gets in the way, and unfortunately, our exercise program is one of the first things to suffer. If you’d like to take control of your fitness and overall health, take a look at these three quick and easy ways to squeeze in just a little bit of exercise every single day.
Morning Jumping Jacks
If you need to get in just a bit of exercise, but you’re short on time, try getting in a quick set of 10 or 20 jumping jacks as soon as you wake up. If you haven’t been working out, this will really feel like work. It will also wake up your mind and muscles, meaning your mornings will be better than ever. If you’re feeling ambitious, do more. Just this small amount of movement will leave you feeling healthier after only a short amount of time.
Stairs Over Elevators
If you’re a little more interested in sneaking in the exercise, look to make simple changes such as taking the stairs at every opportunity. Elevators are great if you’re going up 20 floors, but if you’re only going up three, take the stairs. This will improve your leg muscles as well as your general conditioning. And once you get used to this little change, you’ll find yourself seeking out the stairs every chance you get.
Lunch Time Squats
It doesn’t take many squats before those legs start to burn. If you want to get in just a few each day, but you don’t want to spend much time on it, try squeezing in a few at lunch time. Just before you eat, do about 10 squats. Just after lunch, do about 10 more. This can be done anywhere -- almost any job, at home, or on the go -- and works the lower half of the body for some serious tone and a little bit of calorie burn.
Getting in a little bit of exercise is both easy and beneficial to your overall health. Use these easy opportunities to burn some calories and strengthen the muscles. With some simple additions to your daily routine, you can get in some of the best shape of your life.
