Avoid Pain With These Tips
By Paul Rothbart
Waking up with pain every day is awful. It's distracting, it makes getting through the day difficult, and it's just ... painful. Many people suffer from chronic pain in multiple parts of their bodies. Some suffer in silence while others complain to anyone who will listen. But it doesn't have to be that way. There are ways to minimize or possibly eliminate pain. Here are some tips to do just that.
Stay Active
Anyone who leads a sedentary lifestyle is just asking for pain. Sitting or lying around constantly can cause muscles to atrophy and joints to lose some of their range of motion. When you do have to do something physical, this can cause pain. It's best to stay active. Get regular exercise. Find an activity you enjoy and do it at least 30 minutes a day, 4-5 times a week. Even a brisk walk around the neighborhood will work wonders. Use it or lose it, the saying goes. It's true.
Work Your Joints
Joints that don't move can be painful and don't function as well as they should. When the range of motion of a joint is reduced, it can hurt when you try to extend it fully. You can avoid this by working each joint through its full range of motion every day. You don't need to lift anything, just contract and extend the joint a few times, being sure to go as far as it comfortably can. This can improve flexibility and help the joints move smoothly. It's a great way to avoid pain.
Eat Plenty of Fruits and Vegetables
Eating lots of calories can stress the body and cause pain. Fruits and vegetables are high in nutrition and low in calories. Your body gets what it needs with foods that are more easily digestible and with a reasonable amount of calories. Eating this way has many other health benefits but it can also reduce pain.
See a Chiropractor
One of the best ways to minimize pain is to get regular chiropractic care. A chiropractor can examine your spine and joints and find any subluxations or other problems. These can be adjusted to restore full range of motion to the joints and get the spine straight. This can reduce many kinds of pain. Back, neck, joints, even tension headaches are often minimized by seeing a chiropractor.
Nobody wants to be in constant pain. Taking these steps can help you avoid it. Consider a visit to The Joint Chiropractic. No appointment is needed. You may find that seeing a chiropractor adds significantly to avoiding pain in your life.
