There are so many things in life that we make way too complicated. Relationships? We find a way to overthink things and mess them up. Job prospects? We better weigh every possible pro and con before making a decision. We're full of self-doubt, which makes us take more steps than necessary when making a decision. For the most part, a little bit of complication doesn't really hurt anything. It makes the process longer, but it all turns out OK in the end. But there are a few areas in life where we should be focusing on simplifying, and one of the most important is our health! If you're ready to make healthy living simple, take a look at these signs you're making it harder than it has to be.
Are You Switching From One Theory to Another?
Sometimes, when we can't figure out what to do, we just keep switching around. We move from one diet theory to another. We try one workout, and then immediately try something completely different. While variety can be good, it's also important to give each method some time to work. Nothing is going to work instantly. It requires time and patience. If you're constantly looking for the next big fitness fad, it's time to relax, simplify, and let it work.
Are You Sticking to the Basics?
Trying new things can be fun. But it's so important to stick to the basics. Are you moving more than you eat? Are you getting good sleep? Are you stretching and staying active? If you're not doing these things, then the other methods just aren't going to work. Go back to basics and start from scratch. Once you get the basics down, you can build from there.
Are You Losing Motivation?
When things are too difficult, we lose motivation. If you've noticed your motivation waning, do some soul searching to see whether you're doing it to yourself. If you're over complicating things, make it easy on yourself. When it's easy to accomplish something -- like a healthy diet or exercise -- you're more likely to do it. And if you actually do it, you're more likely to see results. And the more results you see, the more motivated you'll become! It's a wonderful cycle of better health that comes about when you keep it simple.
It's time to make healthy living simple. Stop overthinking. Stop worrying so much. Just keep it simple! With the right approach, you can make your life and your health more simple for a lifetime of wellness and happiness too.
