5 Options for Exercising at Home
By Brandi Goodman
When the weather outside is frightful, and the nearest gym is less than delightful, where are you supposed to go? Home! Numerous exercise options exist that allow you to work out the way you need from the comfort of your own home. Give them a try.
Follow a Free Video
Do you have a television and internet connectivity? That's all you need for a good home workout. Follow along with a free video you can find online. Whether you connect to YouTube or even just Facebook, you can find some exercise solutions with real trainers showing you how to do the moves correctly. Follow along for the duration and do the best you can.
Use Your Furniture
You don't need anything at all aside from your furniture. Use your couch for tricep dips or a chair to sit and do basic leg lifts. You can get a great workout just from holding yourself up on your furniture and using it to your advantage.
Get on the Ground
Basic push-ups and sit-ups on the floor can help improve your strength and build your stamina. Get on the ground and try these basic exercises without any need for equipment, videos, or furniture. All you need is yourself.
Hire a Personal Trainer
Perhaps you still want to work out with the help of a professional. You don't have to go to the gym to do so if you have the option to hire a personal trainer. Many trainers will travel to you so you can work out with them in your home and still don't have to worry about leaving. They can help guide you on some of the best at-home workouts and may even bring along some equipment for you to try.
Buy Basic Equipment
If you want a good workout at home with at least some basic equipment, there are plenty of easy options you can buy. Dumbbells, a jump rope, a yoga mat, medicine ball, and yoga ball are all lightweight and easy to store. You can exercise with some added weight to increase your strength without having to buy expensive equipment that takes up too much space.
These five exercise options are just the beginning. You have so many choices that allow you to work out from within your own house, never having to step foot in a dirty gym or outdoors when the weather isn't holding up. Use what you can and the space you have to make the most of your indoor home workout.
