Breakfast May Be Irreplaceable

By Tom Herrin

After seeing advertisements, people may believe that meals can really be replaced.  It is probable that lunch and dinner could be for those who are trying to lose weight, but breakfast is really not one to be skipped.  There are too many good nutrients that can be obtained from a good breakfast to either skip it or try to use a substitute. It is not so much that is has to be high in calories, but it can provide plenty of nutrients that may make the body function at its best.  It can be personalized according to need and taste but should be planned with a purpose in mind.

It May Be a Great Source of Energy

People are not much different from cars in that they must be fueled by something.  Food is the fuel for people. The kind the put in has a lot to do with the product that it can yield.  A poor substitute for breakfast can cause a person to feel weak, tired, and hungry early in the day. When people have things such as fruits and juices at breakfast, they can have a healthy source of energy that can help to carry them throughout the early part of the day.  They also provide a good source of nutrients.

It May Help the Immune System

When breakfast contains vitamins and minerals needed, it guarantees that they are available every day.  Many of these foods also contain antioxidants that can help fight disease. Citrus fruits are known to provide many of the other things needed to maintain better health.  As a source of Vitamin C, they can seldom be beat.

It May Help Digestion

Many people have digestive problems.  These may often be the result of a poor diet.  When we consume healthy fibers, we can help to move food along throughout our system with success.  They also tend to make us feel fuller. There is no set formula for it either. Whatever our personal likes happen to be, we can modify what we like by adding or substituting.  Whole grain breads make good toast while there plenty of cereals that can provide good fibers. I like to eat oats at breakfast. With a little planning, you can create a quality breakfast that appeals to your own personal preferences while enhancing your health.
