Meet The Doctors

Dr. Patrick Moore, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Carmel

Dr. Patrick Moore received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL in 1994. He has had a passion for chiropractic ever since he was a sophomore in high school, when he experienced a headache that he couldn’t get relief from with medication. His mother took him to her long-time chiropractor, where Dr. Moore received quick relief, and from that point forward, he pursued the goal of being a chiropractor.

Prior to starting with The Joint, Dr. Moore owned his own practice in Speedway, IN for nine years before he took an opportunity to work in a network of chiropractors in 2004. Within this network, he became the Clinic Director before moving to a new position as Lead Chiropractor in charge of all patient care and day to day operations.

Dr. Moore has vast experience in chiropractic patient care with focus on rehabilitation of the spine, family/child care, and community education regarding the benefits of chiropractic care. Dr. Moore is a Hoosier native and met his wife while attending undergraduate studies at Milligan College, TN.

Dr. Moore’s primary hobbies include camping, fishing and enjoying a good book or visiting with friends and family.

Dr. Jason Domenick, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Carmel

Dr. Domenick, is excited to be back in great city of Indianapolis. In the early 90's he attended Butler University where he played NCAA Division I soccer. He fell in love with the city and returned to the area after playing professionally, coaching collegiate, and earning his doctorate. He earned his Chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences (a leader in the advancement of Chiropractic education and scope of practice; Chicago campus). He is licensed to practice chiropractic and acupuncture in Indiana.

Although Dr. Domenick works with all sorts of patient, of all ages, Dr. Domenick hopes to see some of the local, national, and international athletes and sporting teams that frequent “The Joint”. Dr. Domenick's key interests are sports performance/athletic excellence, concussion mitigation, and neurofeedback.

Dr. Rob Olson, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Carmel

Dr. Rob Olson was born and raised in Brainerd, Minnesota. He attended Bemidji State University in Minnesota for his undergraduate work where he studied physical education and coaching, graduating in 1990. Upon receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 2011, Dr. Olson started his chiropractic career in a private practice in Lafayette, Indiana. After moving to Fishers, Indiana, Dr. Olson began working with The Joint Chiropractic in December 2017.

Dr. Olson says that the best thing about being a chiropractor is the ability to partner with patients to help them achieve their wellness goals. He enjoys counseling patients on nutrition, exercise and overall health improvement and tailors the chiropractic adjustment to fit individual patient needs, incorporating diversified, drop table and activator methods. The things that he wishes more people knew about chiropractic are:

1. It is really about achieving the best health possible, not just a quick fix for pain

2. Research has proven that chiropractic is one of the safest forms of healthcare available

In Case You Didn’t Know

In his spare time, Dr. Olson enjoys church activities, mixed martial arts and football, and spends time with his wife Jennifer and their pets, two dogs, Layla and Whitney, and a cat, Gabby.

Dr. Christopher Gardner, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Carmel

Dr. Chris Gardner and his wife moved to the Indianapolis area in March 2024 from Asheville, N.C.

“The best part of being able to serve the community through chiropractic is being able to restore my patients’ ability to do the things that they love to do without the use of invasive treatments and recovery times,” he says. “The second-best thing about being in chiropractic is to be able to advocate for the body’s natural ability to self-maintain, self-regulate, and self-heal. This allows me to be an advocate for preventative wellness or maintenance care.”

Dr. Chris was born and raised in Bishopville, S.C. and previously served communities in South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, and loves the outdoors and traveling.

He earned his doctorate from Sherman College of Chiropractic after getting a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Coker University in Hartsville, S.C.

“I knew chiropractic was my calling the moment that I was six months post-cervical spine injury with pain and went to a chiropractor for relief,” he says. “As a chiropractor, I have witnessed many times that people are relieved of pains and discomfort, but by far, the coolest thing is when a mom comes in with a breech baby and by adjusting only their spine, the baby returns to optimal position for delivery.”

In Case You Missed It

Dr. Chris likes serving people, and says “the coolest thing I’ve ever done was go to China to serve the underserved communities with chiropractic care.”

Among the most influential books, Dr. Chris references The One Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. “I read this book many years ago when I was first starting chiropractic college,” Dr. Chris says. “This book helped me focus my thoughts and have the mindset to set and achieve my goals.”

The one thing he always keeps stocked in his refrigerator is sparkling water.

Dr. Emma Balensiefer, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Carmel

Dr. Emma Balensiefer, known as “Emma” to her patients, joined The Joint Chiropractic in September 2024. As a cum laude graduate of Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Emma completed her Doctor of Chiropractic education in April 2024. Originally from Lafayette, Indiana, Emma earned her bachelor’s degree in Development and Family Sciences from Purdue University in 2020.

Emma’s commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care took root early in her career and was further sharpened during her internship at community health centers serving low-income populations in St. Louis. She thrived in the collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, working closely with primary care physicians, OB-GYNs, pediatricians, behavioral health counselors, and a wide range of other healthcare professionals. This experience deepened her love for community-focused healthcare and treating patients with chronic pain. Emma is dedicated to helping patients not only manage their pain physically but also understand the complexities behind it. She believes in making her practice light-hearted and fun, all while advocating tirelessly for her patients.

Emma recently moved from St. Louis to Westfield, Indiana, with her significant other, Cameron, and their dog, Peanut. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, exploring local farmers markets, reading fiction, and trying new restaurants in the Indianapolis area. She’s always on the lookout for a great local coffee and book shop and is on a mission to find the best Thai food in town. Emma also hopes to join an intramural volleyball league soon and is looking forward to starting a book club with some close friends.

For Emma, the best part of being in the chiropractic field is the opportunity to improve lives through non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical care. “There are millions of people suffering from joint pain, especially back pain. Chiropractic care, coupled with patient education and exercise, can have such a meaningful impact on improving quality of life.”

One of her most unique and rewarding experiences was working at a bullet-related injury clinic in St. Louis. As part of an interdisciplinary team that included a trauma surgeon, nurses, and mental health providers, she provided chiropractic care to patients navigating life after bullet injuries. The experience was challenging, but deeply fulfilling, and left a lasting impact on her both personally and professionally.

Emma strives to be a positive light in her patients’ day so that regardless of what has happened in their life, they can always look forward to a friendly face and conversation at their chiropractic visit.

Dr. Dana Florence, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Carmel

Dr. Dana Florence is a chiropractor based in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was born and raised. After graduating from Bishop Chatard High School, she pursued her passion for health and wellness at Indiana State University, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Medicine and Rehabilitation with a minor in Massage Therapy in 2017.

Driven by a desire to further her knowledge and expertise in the field of health and wellness. Dr. Florence continued her education at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. There, she earned her Doctorate in Chiropractic as well as a Master’s degree in Sports Health Science. Her commitment to excellence in patient care was exemplified during her internship with Kennesaw State University Athletics, where she honed her skills in treating athletes and promoting injury prevention.

In October 2024, Dr. Florence joined The Joint Chiropractic, where she focuses on providing comprehensive chiropractic care to enhance the well-being of her patients. She is passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their health goals through personalized treatment plans and a holistic approach to wellness.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Florence enjoys staying active and engaging with her community. Her dedication to improving the quality of life for others is evident in her compassionate care and commitment to lifelong learning in the ever-evolving field of chiropractic medicine.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being in the chiropractic field for Dr. Florence is the ability to make a tangible difference in her patients' lives. She finds immense joy in helping individuals regain their mobility and improve their overall well-being through personalized care and holistic approaches.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Florence enjoys exploring her interests in bowling, trying out new food spots, and engaging in various crafts. A constant in her life is keeping her fridge stocked with water—she believes that staying hydrated is essential for maintaining optimal health and energy levels.

If Dr. Florence could host the perfect dinner party, she would invite Oprah Winfrey, Jesus, Queen Naija, and Madam C.J. Walker. Each of these remarkable individuals represents empowerment, creativity, and resilience. Oprah’s wisdom and philanthropic spirit inspire many, while Jesus embodies compassion and understanding. Queen Naija’s musical talent and relatable storytelling resonate deeply, and Madam C.J. Walker’s entrepreneurial legacy serves as a powerful reminder of the impact one can have on their community.

One of the coolest experiences in Dr. Florence's life was a New Year’s cruise she took, which allowed her to celebrate the turning of the year in a unique and memorable way. The combination of travel, relaxation, and festive celebrations made it a highlight, providing her with a refreshing perspective as she welcomed new opportunities for the year ahead.

As a dedicated chiropractor and a vibrant member of her community, Dr. Florence continues to inspire those around her through her commitment to health, creativity, and connection.
