Dr. Damian E. Rowe graduated from Parker University in Dallas, Texas with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree as well as two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Human Anatomy, the other in Health and Wellness.
Dr. Rowe is board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and is licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts as a Chiropractic Physician and Physiotherapist.
Since he was crushed by a car as a five-year-old suffering a fractured skull not to mention other bodily injury, Dr. Rowe has lived with chronic back pain and spinal muscle tension. It was so debilitating by the time he was 27, a co-worker advised to seek chiropractic care. Unaware of its existence, he had previously sought conventional medical care as well as physical therapy. His initial visit was night and day for his functional ability to stand upright and the pain was significantly relieved. This convinced him to change professions from design engineering to Chiropractic Healthcare.
Dr. Rowe continues to seek ongoing wellness care finding great relief from the staff at The Joint. He regularly adjusts his wife and children understanding that chiropractic wellness care is critical for a properly operating nervous system. Dr. Rowe has post-doctoral training in pediatric & pregnancy care from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and most recently has embarked on continuing education in the nutritionally oriented field of Functional Medicine through the esteemed Institute for Functional Medicine, Kalish Institute and Kresser Institute. His personalized blend of techniques allows him to care for the whole body but takes pride in specializing in upper neck, upper back and rib driven dysfunction of the upper extremities. Dr. Rowe also takes pride in adjusting feet, ankles, hands and wrists.
He has taught over 120 credit hours for multiple local colleges in the disciplines of Microbiology, Cell Biology, Pathophysiology and Anatomy & Physiology. His dedication to health education has long been the foundation of both his academic and professional careers. Dr. Rowe's passion is to support people to take responsibility for their wellness - and to help them to move towards vibrant health – physically, chemically and mentally.
When not educating the community on the benefits of chiropractic health care, Dr. Rowe enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
Dr. Braden Sahlfeld, D.C. was born and raised in Beloit, Kansas. He attended Beloit High School where he received a Kansas State High School Activities Association Citizenship Award. He later went on to Kansas State University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a Minor in Cardiovascular Exercise Physiology. After undergraduate school, he attended Palmer College of Chiropractic.
He chose to pursue a career in chiropractic for several reasons. The main reason though, stems back to a high school athletic wrestling injury. He apprehensively went to see a chiropractor to help him relieve and eventually eliminate his pain. After receiving the adjustment, he was extremely intrigued in the techniques used and he wanted to learn more about this profession. Fortunately, for him the chiropractor that adjusted him also happened to be his pole vaulting coach. While shadowing his mentor, Dr. Sahlfeld witnessed how his mentor’s patients truly trusted and appreciated receiving his pain relieving talent. It seemed as if their stress had been lifted right off of their shoulders with their individual adjustments. Dr. Sahlfeld firmly believes in doing whatever he can do to help someone in need. After seeing what his mentor could do, he knew that this was the profession that he wanted to pursue in order for him to continue his way of life by helping others as well.
Dr. Sahlfeld has worked with a wide range of ages over his career. He says he loves seeing all ages because “You see something different with everyone and it makes it a fun challenge to find their problem and help them get relief.” He also enjoys working with infants and athletes. Dr. Sahlfeld utilizes a multitude of techniques. He is proficient in Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson, and Activator. With having a multitude of techniques at his disposal he is able to find a technique that will work best for you!
In Dr. Sahlfeld’s off time he enjoys hunting, fishing, going on adventures with his dog, exercising, staying healthy and trying to help others become fit and healthy using proper techniques and strategies.
Dr. Millicent Jones became part of The Joint Chiropractic family of doctors in 2013, and joined the Fayetteville clinic in 2017. A graduate of Northwest Missouri State who got her bachelor of science in pre-professional zoology, Dr. Jones got her doctorate from Cleveland Chiropractic College,
“The thing I love most about being part of the chiropractic field is being able to help people without the use of medicine,” she says. “I love converting people into believers in the power of chiropractic.”
Dr. Jones grew up in the midwest, and worked previously in Georgia. She enjoys crafts/sewing, along with reading and spending time her husband, son and daughter.
She saw first-hand the impact of chiropractic on her family, which ultimately led her on the path that led her to The Joint. “My dad saw a chiropractor all of my childhood after several car accidents and back surgery,” she says. “It helped him control his pain.” Now she loves doing that for those who seek out her.
The thing she enjoys most about working at the Fayetteville location is the patients. “We get to work with a lot of soldiers and their families,” she says. “It’s very gratifying to serve these American heroes.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Jones says the one thing she must keep handy are vegetables: “I snack on them all day.”
If she could share a veggie plate with any four people from history, she would love to sit around a table with favorite actress Judy Garland, actress Ellen Pompeo, author and TV personality Ree Drummond of The Pioneer Woman, and the driving force of How to Get Away With Murder, Viola Davis. “Ree Drummond seems like such a sweetheart, and Viola Davis seems like such a badass,” Dr. Jones says. The Wizard of Oz, featuring Garland, and Grey’s Anatomy, which features Pompeo, are Dr. Jones’ favorite movie and TV show.
One of the interesting things she has done is become a runner. “It’s cool because it’s something that I would have never dreamed would happen,” she says. “It is a very different lifestyle than I have had in the past.
