Dr. Sparks was raised in a homeschool family on the Texas Gulf Coast, in a small town outside of Houston called Huffman. He was admitted into Lone Star Community College at the age of 15, where he completed undergraduate studies and received a Certification in Massage Therapy in 2017. That same year, Dr. Sparks was accepted at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, TX to start classwork for his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology degree, which he obtained in 2018 while practicing as a licensed massage therapist in Webster, TX.
Dr. Sparks discontinued his career as a massage therapist after receiving his Bachelor’s degree to focus on his graduate studies. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree in late 2020, graduating with high honors at the age of 23. During his time at Texas Chiropractic College, Dr. Sparks was elected as the class ethics officer, ensuring academic integrity in the classroom and equal opportunities for all his peers to succeed. He also did volunteer work at the Bridge Over Troubled Water women’s shelter, providing complimentary chiropractic care to the residents.
Dr. Sparks had internships at multiple clinics in his final months of school before deciding to join Balance Chiropractic Center in Crosby, TX as a business partner. While practicing in Texas, Dr. Sparks received advanced training in Applied Kinesiology, Sacro-Occipital Technique, and Extremity Adjusting. He also oversaw the spread of chiropractic awareness throughout the local community by attending local business expos, charity golf tournaments and 5k’s, mentoring students from local schools, and modifying patient education within the clinic.
Dr. Sparks thoroughly enjoyed practicing in Texas, but his family was quickly outgrowing his ability to provide for them with his current job, so he started looking for opportunities for growth He found that opportunity at Polly’s Chiropractic in Fort Mohave, AZ. Dr. Sparks liked the increased pay and decreased hours, but he missed the rain, grass, and humidity of the Gulf Coast. He ultimately decided he wanted to raise his family in the Cajun culture he had enjoyed as a child and moved his family to Baton Rouge, LA.
Dr. Sparks specializes in:
- Diversified Technique
- Applied Kinesiology
- Sacro-Occipital Technique
- Instrument Assisted Adjusting
- Soft Tissue Manipulation
- Extremity Adjusting
- Perinatal Chiropractic Care for women and their infants
His treatments are highly effective for people of all ages. Dr. Sparks bases his treatment plans and recommendations on each individual patient’s needs, regardless of their insurance benefits. He has a palpable passion for chiropractic, and his professional goals are righteous: to use the knowledge he gained from school, combined with his God-given gift of healing, to restore the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of his community by providing drug-free treatment with little to no side-effects—except pain relief and improved quality of life.
Dr. Sparks’ Chiropractic Testimony
As a child, I suffered from a condition called enuresis, also called “bedwetting.” I was medicated with desmopressin at about age 4 and stayed on it for YEARS—sometimes it wouldn’t even work. When I was about 9, my father and older brother started being treated by a chiropractor for debilitating migraine headaches they’d get at least once a week. Their headaches went from every week to every few months after their first 30 days of treatment.
During one of their appointments, my father saw a brochure about “Bedwetting” and brought it up to the chiropractor who said interference on the nerves in the low back could be the cause of my problem. So, the following week my father brought me in for an appointment and the chiropractor diagnosed me with low back subluxations that he said were definitely interfering with the function of the nerves in my low back.
My lower back was too stiff to adjust the first few appointments, so the doctor just worked on the muscles and joints around the problem. Then, a few weeks into my treatment plan, the chiropractor went to twist my lower spine and POP!!! The bones in the area my bladder nerves come from finally shifted and I couldn’t have been more excited! He told me to stop taking the desmopressin and see what my body does—it didn’t wet the bed for 2 weeks straight! I still had one accident every few weeks for about 3 months, but never wet the bed again after that.
Chiropractic made me feel normal for the first time in my life, so I decided to study chiropractic intensively to see what other conditions it could help with—and I was fascinated with what I found. Chiropractic can treat ANY condition through restoring normal function of the nervous system and allowing the body to heal ITSELF! That’s why I became a chiropractor.
