Easy, Healthy Foods to Pack in Your Lunch

From the time that you first step foot in a school, there's one aspect of the day that suddenly becomes really important. Lunch. As kids, we worry about whether or not we have a juice box or a cup of pudding in our packs. As we get older, we worry about whether anyone is going to sit with us. And as we reach adulthood, we skip the lunch hassle altogether and just opt for fast food or takeout from the local diner. Unfortunately, this approach can lead to weight gain and poor health  two things we definitely don't need as adults. If you would like to keep your health in check, take a look at these easy, healthy foods to pack in your lunch starting today.

Apple

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, right? It's true! Apples are full of both fiber and water, two things that your body needs to stay well. Apples are also sweet and delicious, which makes them a perfect end of lunch treat. And perhaps one of the best parts about apples is that they're so easy. Wash it, throw it in the bag, eat it, and toss the core. It couldn't' be easier, and it's still super healthy to give you a blast of nutrients at your lunch every day.

Banana

Bananas are another really easy food to add to your lunch. All you have to do is throw it in your bag and toss the peel when you're done. Bananas will give you potassium, fiber, and plenty of other healthy nutrients. They can also help you feel full, which is why many people enjoy their presence at lunch. With a healthy lunch topped off with a banana, you may be able to avoid excess snacking in the afternoon, leading to better weight management in the long run.

Carrots

Carrots are crunchy, slightly sweet, and definitely healthy. Some people like the act of chewing. They like the crunch and the hard texture, and if you're one of these people, then carrots are an excellent choice. If you want something slightly sweeter, choose baby carrots, as these have been peeled to make the sweet flavor really stand out.
