Fan Health Network Launching Social Fitness App
Many athletes know how important health and wellness is to their performance, and to their lives overall. Maintaining positive health outcomes, both physically and mentally, puts us in an excellent position to succeed and move through confidently.
Those involved in sports are somewhat privy to this concept, as individuals who are not involved in athletics sometimes have a more limited understanding of the necessity for health and wellness. After a great career as a running back for Euclid High School, The Ohio State University, and multiple NFL teams, Robert Smith is throwing his hat into the ring and trying to change the culture of health and wellness with technology.
Robert Smith has worked with a team of developers to launch an application centered on fitness, work out programs, and education. It is common that athletes are engaged in some sort of fitness training outside of the sport they play, but do not have adequate knowledge of how this training should be conducted nor do they know the proper process. Robert Smith wants to ensure that athletes across the country are taking proper care of their bodies when training, and he understands how useful technology can be in this education effort.
As CEO and co-founder of Fan Health Network, Smith teamed up with Jay Fielder and Tom Cousineau, also former NFL players, to bring this app to life in early 2015. It has been available for android the entire year and has recently been added to the iTunes Store. It is free to download.
This collective of former NFL Players have contracts with the Ohio State University and the Mayo Clinic to contribute content to the app. Additional sources of content include various different football players of the Ohio State University, some of which include Jim Jackson, Cris Carter, Clark Kellogg, and other notable players such as Troy Smith and Eddie George.
Robert Smith and the Fan Health Network want this application to have a social component, expanding the level of communication between athletes everywhere. With knowledge transferring and open communication, the founders of the application are confident that they can develop a heightened level of training effectiveness for athletes everywhere.
