Foods for Eliminating Bloat
You know that feeling that you get when you’ve eaten too much, or perhaps just eaten the wrong foods? It feels like if someone stuck your belly with a pin, you’d pop like a balloon. That unfortunate and annoying feeling is what’s known as bloat. Not only does bloat feel uncomfortable, it makes you look bigger too. That bloated belly sticks out, makes your pants feel tight, and gives your abdomen a rounded look. Luckily, according to a recent article in Fitness Magazine, in order to avoid this feeling, there are some simple foods you can add to your diet. Check out these foods that can help you fight the bloat.
Lemon
Lemon is a great food for many things in the body, and bloat is definitely one of them. Lemon is full of antioxidants, but it also promotes detoxification. It’s this natural detox that helps to eliminate bloat from the belly. For really great results, add a little lemon to your water (see benefits below!), and you’ll be getting the best of both worlds.
Water
It probably seems a little bit counter productive to drink more water when you’re already feeling like you could pop, but water really will help. Sometimes when you bloat, your body is hanging on to fluid because it is dehydrated. What’s the only way to avoid and treat dehydration? Yep, you have to drink more water. Besides helping to eliminate bloat, water can assist all of the functions of your body, so you’ll feel better as a whole if you simply up your cup.
Cranberry
Cranberry is a great natural detox. It’s so good that it is recommended for things like kidney infections. It will detox, but also works as a diuretic. It will naturally cause you to lose some of the bloat, especially if any of that bloat is a fluid. Just be careful with cranberry. It needs to be the organic kind. You’ll know you’ve got the right kind if it tastes biter. If you get the cocktail, sugar will have been added for taste, and you’ll negate many of its healthy effects.
Bloat is definitely annoying to deal with. It’s uncomfortable and unattractive. It gets in the way of your favorite clothes, and just brings you down a little. Luckily, you don’t have to deal with it anymore. Use all or any of these foods to naturally rid your body of bloat and put your best foot forward.
