Here's How to Lose a Few Pounds This Year
By Virginia Laird
With the start of a new year, millions will decide that weight loss is a priority in 2019. Still, most will struggle to meet their goals. Health and wellness experts advise that some get discouraged when they are unable to see quick results. For most, there can be some weight loss in the early part of any new diet or exercise program, but serious results do take time. These experts have offered a few suggestions to help you manage your weight loss goals and see progress along the way. A few of their tips include:
- Work out with a friend
- Choose to follow a healthy diet
- Drink lots of water daily
Work Out With a Friend
Losing weight can be the battle of a lifetime. However, health and wellness experts suggest that committing to a weight loss plan with the help and company of a friend can make your journey more successful. One of the many benefits of sharing this experience with a buddy is their ability to help you stay accountable for your food and workout choices. There are times when committing to exercise that you need a friend to push you when you simply do not feel like getting off the couch. Find a friend who will help you stay motivated and, together, make a plan to work out routinely and you may both see the desired weight loss in no time at all.
Choose to Follow a Healthy Diet
Health and wellness experts suggest that weight loss is best achieved by choosing to follow a healthy diet. This is described as one full of vegetables and fruit, as well as lean proteins. Rather than building your meals around pasta, it should be structured around chicken and a host of veggies from which to choose. There is research to suggest that making such changes in your diet can help you see some weight loss quickly.
Drink Lots of Water Daily
For years, health and wellness experts have suggested that drinking plenty of water is best for your health. More recently, both experts and research indicate that consuming plenty of water can help manage weight. Because water is a zero calorie beverage, it can be used as a filler to help curb your appetite. It is suggested that you should drink at least half of your body weight in ounces each day. For those trying to help prevent overeating, it is best to drink one glass of water prior to each meal.
