Dr. Alex Taylor joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2021, working in several offices in the St. Louis, Missouri area including Saint Peters, O’Fallon, Chesterfield, St. Louis and Creve Coeur. In February 2022 he was named Clinic Director at The Joint Chiropractic in Cottleville, located in Saint Peters, Missouri.
Dr. Taylor is originally from Belleville, Illinois. He attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Exercise Science.
Dr. Taylor was drawn to healthcare. “Growing up I always wanted to be in the medical field,” he says. But he knew chiropractic was his calling after suffering a car accident in high school. “The results from care were amazing! Not only for my whiplash injury, but from minor aches and pains that I assumed were normal,” according to Dr. Taylor.
Dr. Taylor decided to attend Logan University and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2018. He went on to practice in Belleville, Illinois and Bridgeton, Missouri before joining The Joint.
According to Dr. Taylor, the best part of being in the chiropractic field and working at The Joint Chiropractic is interactions with the patients. “They come in with pain or discomfort and after treating them they leave with relief and a smile on their face,” he says.
Dr. Taylor is married to his wife Sara, and they share two dogs – Ellie & Lacey, both light brown terrier mixes. He enjoys playing a plethora of sports including volleyball, pickleball and soccer. Additionally, he enjoys watching Blues hockey.

Dr. Taylor says the coolest thing he’s ever done is hiking the Paintbursh Divide Loop in the Grand Tetons. “It was a 19-mile hike that my wife and I completed in about 9 hours. We got to 11,000 feet and it was completely worth the 360-degree lookout at the top and the incredible views during the descent,” he says.
Dr. Ed Ernstrom joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2021 and was named Managing Doctor of Chiropractic and Clinic Director at The Joint Chiropractic in Central West End, located in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Ernstrom is originally from Martinez, California. He attended Brigham Young University and graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Exercise Science.
Dr. Ernstrom says, “I was first interested in the sports medicine world. I called all the chiropractors and physical therapists in that area asking if they might be hiring. Only the chiropractors were willing to entertain my application for work. As they interviewed me to be an employee, I was interviewing them about their profession. I agreed with them that surgery and pain medications were being over utilized. I found out the chiropractic was an amazing option for individuals that are looking for care that didn’t default to surgery and opiates.”
Dr. Ernstrom moved forward with chiropractic and attended Logan University and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2010.
Dr. Ernstrom knew chiropractic was his calling because it came naturally. “It is my personality to be a helper and an entertainer. I have intuitive use of my hands. My brain thinks in the ways of biomechanics (force, vectors, torque, etc.). As I began to first treat individuals as a student, I felt at home performing care on individuals large and small, old and young,” he says.
r. Ernstrom says, “The best part of being in the chiropractic field is being the first chiropractor for an individual. In the United States, more than 90% of the population have never been to a chiropractor. Every time I am the first chiropractor for someone means that one more person will now know that there are more options to help them without surgery and medications for their pain.”
Dr. Ernstrom says the best thing about working at The Joint Chiropractic is, “When the patient comes off the table and thanks me with a smile.”
