3 Exercises that Tone Arm Muscles
By Virginia Laird
Are you someone who would love to find a way to tone your arms without lifting weights or committing to push-ups? While finding the right exercise for your routine may take some trial and error, with determination it is possible. Although some personal trainers would suggest lifting light weights at high reps is key to toning muscles, others have found there are some excellent exercises that use body weight as resistance for toning. It is safe to say that both weights (or machines) as well as exercises can do the job. A few things to try when trying to target the arms can include:
- Mountain climbers
- Rowing machine
- Arm bike
Mountain Climbers
Personal trainers and fitness instructors love this exercise because it offers many benefits. This exercise gets the heart flowing, works the legs, and builds strength in the arms. It is vital, in order to avoid injury, to perform this exercise correctly. The shifting of the weight from leg to leg while putting the arms to the test can be more difficult than a slew of push-ups.
Rowing Machine
The greatest advantage of the rowing machine is a person’s ability to reap all the benefits of this exercise without ever having to worry about a sunburn or getting sea sick. Although, with the Missouri River near by, some may prefer making a trip down the river. No matter which way a person puts rowing to use, by the end of the first session, a person may feel every muscle in the body screaming for a break. However, the arms will get the best workout of the entire body.
Arm Bike
Arm bikes have increased in popularity over the last few years. Athletes have found that such machines offer the ability to get the heart pumping without the need to go for a long jog. Another great benefit is that it works the entire arm. Some trainers claim that standing while using the arm bike can be beneficial for the legs as well.
For those who may be struggling to get the arms toned, these exercises may be worth a try. After just one workout, you are certain to feel the burn. Although, it is vital to remember that visual changes take longer to be noticed. Stick to it and you will not be disappointed. Good luck!
