How to Lose a Few Pounds

By Virginia Laird

Although everyone with a desire to lose weight wishes there was a magic solution, there is not one, and there never will be. There will be those you come in contact with who will claim to have it all figured out and offer to help you by asking you to commit to a fad diet and an autoship bill. While these can work, they are not necessary. Health and wellness experts admit that weight loss is more about your choices than committing to difficult diets. A few tips to consider include:

  • Drink your water
  • Choose lean protein
  • Make time to exercise

Drink Your Water

Water is a key component when trying to lose weight. Health and wellness experts say that, not only does consuming plenty keep you well hydrated, it also can help to curb your appetite. Some suggest drinking at least one glass of water prior to each meal to help you feel more full before eating. It is suggested that you consume at least half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. In order to do this, you may need to write down each time you have a glass. Even if water is not your favorite beverage, those who are serious about dropping some weight will commit to drinking the water necessary.

Choose Lean Protein

The meat you choose to rely on can greatly impact reaching your desired outcome, whether it be weight loss or improved health. For this reason, health and wellness experts highly recommend that you choose lean protein as a regular part of your diet. Many limit this to include only fish and chicken. Replacing a fattier protein with a leaner choice will both help you lose weight and improve your overall health.

Make Time to Exercise

Exercise is another tip that health and wellness professionals suggest you add to your daily routine when trying to slim up. Although many believe this must be an intense workout at the gym, it doesn't have to be. Instead, it can be a brisk walk through your neighborhood. Research indicates that as little as 30 minutes of exercise each day can get your weight moving in the direction you want. Start making time to workout today.

With the helpful advice of health and wellness professionals you can be on your way to a slimmer you today.
