Does Sprucing up the Yard Hurt Your Back?

By Tom Herrin

Each season has its little perks and demands.  Any time we move from one to another, we often have new demands on our time and labor.  As we move from winter into spring, we may be faced with trimming up a lot of trees in an effort to remove dead or damaged limbs.  This protects the trees and helps them to fill out for the growing seasons.  The downside is that you may have to do a lot of work while reaching overhead.  This can end up causing back pain.  If beautifying your place gets you down in your back, a visit to a chiropractor may have you feeling spring fever.

The Back and the Trees

Anytime we do work that requires us to reach over our heads while working, we risk placing our backs in an awkward position.  It can end up straining the muscles that support the spine.  When this happens, they may fail to be able to perform their designated task of supporting the spine.  A joint dysfunction may occur in which pressure is placed on a nerve causing pain.  Pain medication does little to help.  There may be some miserable nights ahead as we may end up walking the floor with discomfort.

Chiropractors Are Peacemakers

When you go to a chiropractor with back pain, you will likely be given an adjustment.  In this,  the spine is gently manipulated so that the injured joint is restored to its optimal position.  This can take the pressure off of the nerve and relieve the pain.  This is all done naturally, so there is no risk of addiction or side effects.  It can be a great feeling.  A return to regular daily activities may occur sooner.  It may be the start of a healthy new lifestyle.  Many times, the chiropractor will suggest some exercises that can help to strengthen the muscles that support the injured joint.

Regular Visits May Be Best

Once people experience the relief a chiropractor can provide, many of them choose to have regular visits.  At The Joint Chiropractic, they have plans that are very affordable.  No insurance is required, no appointments are necessary.  They are open days and evenings, weekdays and weekends at all of their more than 500 locations nationwide.  If your eye for beautifying the yard ends up causing you back pain, drop in at The Joint Chiropractic today and enjoy that yard tomorrow.
