Dr. Kalm was born and raised in Santiago, Chile. He came to the US in pursuit of a dream to play rugby professionally which he was fortunate to accomplish. After a serious neck injury, Dr. Kalm was inspired by a chiropractor to pursue chiropractic and couldn’t be happier doing what he does now.

Believing that every patient is unique, presenting with their own challenges and requiring an individual approach, Dr. Kalm enjoys the challenge of finding the right approach for each patient and helping them unlock their ability to heal through adjustment and education, seeing the joy of people being able to get back to doing the things they enjoy without medications or surgeries.

Dr. Kalm briefly practiced in Chile after 14 years of not living there, then moved back to STL to be close to my wife’s family and continue to grow as a chiropractor and family. He and his wife have a spicy 2-year-old daughter and another due in February 2026!

Along with family time, Dr. Kalm stays active, hunting, playing sports like pickleball, soccer, Padel tenis, and working out.

One of Dr. Kalm's achievements was winning a D1 National championship in rugby. It was the very last chance to win a ring for him and several of his teammates. Even though the cards were stacked against them, they never stopped believing and fighting. Reaching that pinnacle confirmed the reason why he chose the less-traveled path, risking everything to follow his dreams.

Dr. Matthew Wise has been involved with The Joint Chiropractic in 2019. He earned his doctorate from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2003 and went on to own and operate multiple inter-disciplinary clinics, gaining experience specializing in treatment of athletes then moving on to later specialize in spinal disc and neuropathy treatment. After getting fed up with the frustrations of health insurance and its limitations, Dr. Wise was looking for a new practice model, better for both the practitioner and the patient, and was attracted by The Joint Chiropractic.

Dr. Wise found his passion for chiropractic after suffering from knee pain while playing sports in high school. After seeing several other professionals, he was ultimately helped by a chiropractor, and that’s when he decided to follow that path!

The Chiropractic techniques he uses in practice are mainly Diversified, Thompson, ART, and Activator Methods. He subscribes to a "Total Body" approach to health care and has worked with MD's, PT's, LMT's, Orthopedists and Neurologists in order to provide the best possible care to his patients.

When he’s not engaged in the operation of his Joint Chiropractic locations, Dr. Wise enjoys time with his wife and their four children. He enjoys playing games and sports with them, as well as working on projects and traveling. He also enjoys running and has finished 37 marathons since 1999, including the Boston Marathon in 2004.
