By Virginia Laird
If you are anything like me, you are quite possibly dreading the impending swimsuit season. However, ready or not, it is coming: And it is just a few short weeks away. With that in mind, it is high time to get up and get moving. Fitness experts have offered a variety of things to do which can help get your body ready to rock your favorite swimsuit. A few things to consider making part of your routine include:
- Make time for cardio
- Start adding squats to your workout
- Consider making crunches part of your daily routine
Make Time for Cardio
While cardio is not known for adding much tone to the muscles, it is useful when trying to lose weight. Fitness gurus suggest that you should add at least 20 minutes of good cardio daily. For those who have been out of the workout routine, it can be best to begin as a brisk walk and add jogging slowly. However, there are plenty of other options as well. Biking, a fitness class, and hitting a treadmill or elliptical can help get your cardio on track. Start right away making time for cardio in your life.
Start Adding Squats to Your Workout
Another area to consider making an effort to shape up for your swimsuit is your legs. Fitness experts admit that squats can be beneficial in your efforts to get your thighs more toned. There are a variety of variations to consider. If you are one who may want a little more challenge than the regular squat, consider adding a kettlebell to your squats for some resistance. Consider Making Crunches Part of Your Daily Routine
As you get the rest of your body in shape for the season of all things fun in the sun, it is necessary to add crunches to your routine. Crunches can help tone the abs. Fitness experts admit that committing to crunching daily is a sure way to begin getting the stomach ready for beach vibes and pool parties. It is recommended that you begin adding these slowly. Starting with 100 crunches when you have not been doing this exercise may be a little too much to be excited about. Instead, start small and add as you go. As always, it is best to check your technique, click here.
While it may not be time to get outdoors just yet, if you wait until swimsuit season has begun it will be too late to make much progress. Do yourself a favor and begin today!
